Based on the reviews we read, my husband and I were quite apprehensive of placing my father-in-law at Kith Haven this month, but we had no choice due to his insurance. However, I am happy to state the 2-week experience for us was very favorable! The facility is older but was very clean. ALL of the staff were great, and the service provided to my father-in-law was excellent! From the moment we walked in the door till we left Every employee was super nice and helpful. The staff was very attentive, caring and fully knowledge to any of our needs or concerns. I highly rate this facility based on our 2-week experience in July 2022!!

my sister has been in this facility for three years its awful! she has been asking to be moved to another facility for 3 years and the social worker keeps saying she is going to send a referral so she can move she has not sent one at all She has asked more than six times. because i just went there and checked I want the social worker to do her job for once I want the referral put in my hand so i can take to them over myself cant trust anyone here at all do that. As far as Im concerned you have violated her rights! her name is MS ,S, Locke Holding her hostage for her social security and you also have lost clothing yet again we need to be paid for that

The nurses don’t give a damn. The social worker doesn’t either. The physical therapist are the only people who care. A nurse told me that it wasn’t her job to help my loved one who was sitting in feces because it wasn’t her hallway. My loved one fell because of these “demons of mercy.” Worst facility I have ever seen. They didn’t clean under his bed the ENTIRE time he was there and no one cared if he ate or took his meds or not

I went to look at Kith Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation. The people are nice, but the facility itself is filthy and smells. It's not someplace that I would want my father to be. The rooms could be cleaner. They need more experienced staff to keep up with things. They need more people to be able to keep up and get more one-on-one with patients. They tell people that Medicaid covers part of it. They don't cover all of it, and it still costs the families, especially when they get into hospice care. Medicare will cover the hospice fees, and Medicaid will cover part of the room and board. The staff members were nice.

Not making sure residents have taken their medication. You don't walk away from any residents without knowing if their have taken their pain medicine that they need because they have stage 4 cancer and to fine 20+pills in their room they laying in wet substances bed needs to have been change my God this place needs to be close down the room is dirty the resident didn't have a shirt on before and on another visit the residents was totally naked with just a blanket on them sitting in a chair .I will be contacting higher up but I'm sure they have heard this before..staff was friendly

My mom was in Kith Haven Nursing and Rehab Center. I wouldn't put a dog there. It's not exactly the cleanest, the food was bad, and her room was basic. She said she hated it there. Communication was not good, and there were really no amenities, unless the person was on the lower floor. One good thing, activity wise, was they organized some sort of drive through. If your loved one was able to come out, you would be able to see them that way. They also had bingo and a couple of game night type things. Originally, she was put there for therapy. If your loved one cannot give you feedback or talk about what is going on, do not put them there.

Kith Haven is a place that people are sent to die. Unfortunately it is not a good place to die. While at least the first floor is kept clean the blinds are drawn most of the time, the only light in the rooms from the televisions. Many times when few visitors are present even the hall lights are turned off. there is no stimulation of the residents. In my husbands case a woman asked if he'd like a radio but one was never produced. There were many people who were pleasant and tried to help but I was not impressed with most of the nurses overall. There is a small garden in the back of the complex but while I pushed my husband out there I was not even allowed to take two of the other residents out for a picnic after I had gotten permission the day before. I never saw any residents in that garden with the exception of my husband. I came into my husbands room to find him gasping for breath. I called out to the nurse who answered "he's fine, he's been calling out all night" I tried to save my husband who had been fine the night before with no help from this nurse. I waited at least 15 minutes for the paramedics while my husband was dying and was told by them that it had taken them only 3 minutes to arrive after recieving the call.

The Memory Care Unit has been taking very good care of my Aunt Edith. The most important thing for me is that she enjoys all of the attention. Aunt Edith is Deaf and uses American Sign Language to communicate. Staff go above and beyond to accommodate her. Each and every staff member at Kith Haven has my gratitude for always maintaining positive attitudes.

We can't say enough good things about Kith Haven! Everyone is helpful and when our father with Alzheimer's was combative and the ONLY facility willing to take him was Kith Haven. We were not only grateful but impressed by how genuine they were in their care of him. Lou and Keisha in particular are always there with a smile on their face and willing to help with anything. The cleaning lady on the second floor as well is the nicest gal! We have nothing but good things to say for all of the staff, the coordinators, billing people- EVERYONE has been simply the best!!

After defying odds and surviving a brain aneurysm and coma, my sister was transferred from Henry Ford to Kith Haven for the remainder of her recovery and rehab process. I am honestly more worried for her now than when she was in a coma! How is she supposed to survive this death trap that is Kith Haven?? The first floor staff is completely incompetent. My sister has been there 2 weeks and has already fell out of bed 2 times that I know of! The staff is lazy and barely ever checks on her, she needs round the clock care, and from what I've witnessed, she's on her own 80 percent of the time! I'm afraid to leave her alone there, because I don't trust this lazy first floor staff whatsoever. I highly recommend you keep your loved ones far far away from this death trap!

I would like to say thank you so much for the great care that my aunt received, while spending her time on the 2nd floor at Kith Haven. I was there every day and was delighted to see that my aunt had actually gotten better, everyday that I seen her, she was dressed, hair was brushed and was out of bed and doing great. Of course everyday is a different day, as to how a dementia patient acts, As far a smiling and laughing, to just sitting staring past you. Anyhow... I would like to give a great big Thank You!!! To some of the most helpful and friendly CNAs that were assigned to her. Moe, Lou, and Cena, Amy, Sarah and the cleaning lady, that was so friendly and helpful and kind. I would recommend Kith Haven over any nursing home in genesee county. 2nd floor. lol (only 1 rude nurse and every facility will have that 1 person. But that was on the other wing anyhow, we didn't have to deal with her, only to ask her to reset the elevator buzzer code so the door would shut. She acted like she was queen and was to busy to push her code in.. (Rude) , but on our wing. No problems at all, just minor, petty stuff as far as. Hey, you forgot her yogart, or a straw with her food. stuff like that.

My sister is in Kith Haven. I chose this facility because it is right on the border from where I live. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room is very nice; it is for two people. My sister said that she doesn’t like their food. They take them out, and they have an activity door that has different things for them to do every day. I like the fact that they are involved in with their patients and they keep the families involved. She will be there until she will be able to walk, and I would recommend it but they must improve on the food.

It would be difficult to be more grateful for the services and care that Kith Haven afforded to my wife, Mellannie, and I. A long time sufferer of much more than space allows, we found ourselves with narrowing alternatives and seriously diminished health. Finding the facility to be professionally and compassionately operated, many thanks go out to the staff, it is necessary to especially point to Administrator Sandy N., who proved a gracious.courteous, and comforting host.. Being at a low point, as if there can be one more than the last, our family was at wit's end to resolve Mellannie's health issues in a way that is not absolutely terrifying. She is continuing, since, to improve, it appears that the most significant healing began at the time of her involvement with Kith.
