My mom lived at Mallards for 5 years and loved it. She was well cared for - staff was wonderful to her and to our family. There are many daily activities that residents can choose to participate in, and always people congregated in the main room. Facility is spotless and the food is excellent. Apartments are nice, well maintained and all have an outdoor patio. We felt fortunate that mom was there!

Mallards Landing is in a nice location and looks lovely from the outside. But, I have concerns on their staffing because what you are told and what actually is happening can be two different things. They hire bare minimum staff. As everyone needs different levels of care on any given day care one would have to have more than the state required staff members. If you put your loved one in there you must be at your family members side daily. If you are not there you are pretending the negligence is not happening. Bedsores are neglience along with many other illnesses that happen in nursing homes.

Overall my experience at Mallards Landing was very unpleasant. My grandfather moved in about two years ago. Within two weeks he was very unhappy with the way the staff would treat the patients, and said it is a very lonely enviornment. My grandfather lived there for two months before we decided we did not want him living there anymore. Not only was he unhappy but it was a very unpleasant place for family members to visit. Many of the other people living there were just left wondering around and sometimes doing/wearing inappropriate things. I would not recommend this facility to any family members searching for a assisted living center.
