Samaritas has many hard working CNAs and Nurses but does seem to struggle with timeliness at different times of the day. Communication could be better but staff seem to be "hurried" often. Pain management is great, Physician and Nurse Practititioner are very kind and take the time to listen to health concerns. Food is pretty good! Overall, I give 4 stars, take one away for the daily rush.

If your loved one is admitted and does not have access to a cell phone, you will be given the run around and never able to speak with them. My father in law was denied the right to speak to his wife of 66 years after several attempts. Staff always told us they would have her call on the resident phone but never called back. The mental stress they caused our family is beyond words. No compassion just about revenue.

My mom has been a resident there for a few years. I stopped to see her the other day and she has feces smeared on her pillowcase. I went down to the nursing station because we buzzed for the nurse, but nobody came. When I asked the nurse about the pillowcase, she said "Well, that can't be feces because she hasn't been up yet today to go to the bathroom." I showed her a picture of it that I took on my phone. She said, " I will send a nurse down right away to change that." I waited an hour and nobody ever came to her room. I ended up taking the pillowcase off and throwing it on the floor. When I left I told the nurse at the nursing station that I took it off myself and she said , "We are just so understaffed." That seems to be the answer for anything that I ask about. It is just a terrible place to have to have your loved ones in.

My grandmother is/was a resident there for post op rehab after a hip fracture. Her room was dirty walls were full of holes. The toilet constantly had Bowel in it, and when we complained about this the nurse stated they don't practice flushing the toilet til the end of the night, but if we had such a big problem it wouldn't hurt us to flush it. She also developed a bed sore from having to sit in her urine and bowel. We have gone in to find her bed soaked through her brief and pants and put the call light on had had to wait 20+ minutes for the nurse aide and nurse to finish talking to each other. My grandmother is now in the hospital with sepsis and not doing well. according to the hospital she is the fifth resident brought in in two days with sepsis from Samaritas. We are NOT very happy with this facility or the staff!

I was really surprised at this facility. It was quite dirty. The floor needed washing. It was so dusty that I left footprints. The bathroom was a toilet shared with another room and the floor showed that it had had liquids spilled on it and allowed to dry. When I complained, nursing sent a cleaning woman in to clean the floors but she was very sulky and gave me a dirty look. The aides and other personnel were very helpful, good natured, and attentive.I left the next day however when I learned that my doctor had failed to put on the discharge orders that I was to take a certain blood thinner each day. He had had me get the prescription filled and had me take it to the nursing facility with me. The bottle stated clearly that it was to be taken following the surgery but the facility declined to let me take it. It was the last straw for me. They refused to contact the doctor since he did not have priveleges at their facility. I felt I would be better off at home. The food was very good. The bed was comfortable. From what I could see of the place, there was good effort to have activities for people to keep them amused. It just wasn't the right place for me.
