I moved my loved one to Arden Courts in late March. She had been in a different memory care facility for several years. Here at Arden Courts, she has received MUCH better care, and the cost is less! The facility is all ground level with a lot of secure outdoor area which is regularly monitored. I never have to hunt for staff who can help me if I have questions or needs. My loved one is never left to just sit by herself at a table when there is no meal being served. (All of these positive things are in contrast to the facility where she was paying much more and not receiving the care that is at Arden Courts.) All of the staff, from the director, HR, sales, reception, care aides, nursing, maintenance and food service, are always available to help with concerns!

The facility is light and bright with a safe outdoor area where resident can walk or sit The cost is at first overwhelming but when you see the care each resident is given, all they do to make sure ones dignity is maintained it puts the spouse at ease That is a priceless gift when you are dealing with advanced dementia and early onset alzheimers

My mother came into the facility as a respite stay, and when our circumstances changed and we needed to have her stay longer, the very qualified staff embraced , supported and helped us navigate the process and my mom thrived here! A colorful, warm, clean and secure environment with an outstanding staff will greet you and it has given me comfort , as a nurse, to have found such a wonderful place. Thank you , Arden Court!!

My grandmother is in Arden Courts of Bingham Farms. They're very caring, she just celebrated her 100th birthday, and they did lots to make it a special day for her. They have lots of activities geared toward people with dementia, and they do go outside. I like the layout of the facility and that it seemed small, but when they go out it's in the interior of the facility, so it's not seen by the road or anyone walking by. They painted her nails gold for her 100th birthday.

My mother has been a resident at Arden Courts of Bingham Farms for about a year and a half. The staff is friendly and welcoming as they go about their work. My mom doesn't communicate very well anymore yet she enjoys being around the other residents at meal times and during activities. The staff works with her to keep her up and active. Arden Courts is small enough that no resident is over-looked, even for a few hours. Everyone there seems to care about the residents, unlike at some other places we visited. It's truly a hidden gem!

At first I thought this place was a godsend but after two years I am anxious and concerned about my mom's well being. The staff can be caring, professional and kind, however they seem to be stretched very thin and I have noticed a lot of turnover. They do the bare minimum of keeping your loved one fed properly and cleaned. The corporate line claims that Arden Courts sees each resident as an individual and will cater to their particular needs, but I have come to know that this is not true. I have witnessed agitated residents being yelled at to "quiet down and just watch TV" by staff. I've also seen a resident fall out of their chair and be in high distress, a caregiver nearby but too busy with the dinner service to help. The resident was on the floor for a couple of minutes distressed and struggling. My mom has had ingrown toenails, has been put in double diapers, and developed a nail fungus. Her diet has caused severe constipation and led to painful hemorrhoids. She is often in clothes that are not clean. In my experience, the Executive Director does not respond well to the concerns of family members when approached for help. Her manner is defensive, obstinate and cold. She seems more concerned with appearances than the actual substance of meaningful care. Perhaps this location did a better job in the past.

They are very unprofessional the Day time staff especially this one caretaker staff name lakeshia. They dont hardly have a midnight nurse on staff to watch out for the residents. They have the caretaker overseeing the place at night. The Director is old and she come off as nice and then she can be unprofessional too. I would not recommend this location. Not to mention they never have staff!

I looked at Arden Courts. They charge people $1,000 more a month than other facilities, which is terrible. The facility didn’t stink, though. It looked clean and neat. The staff seemed very nice, but they’re going to seem very nice because they want your business.

I was present at the 100th birthday party for a resident at Arden Courts of bingham farms and it was so wonderful to see the caring staff and residents celebrate the joy of aging. The smiles were genuine just like the care. It is a very special place for anyone living with dementia and needs special care. I was very impressed!

I went to Arden Courts, and that's the place I preferred because it was strictly memory care. And they don't nickel and dime you to death. They give you a reasonable price. Every month of the year, you could expect to pay the same price. It's not going to change by $10 a day here or $15 a day there. A lot of the places would quote you a price, say $3,000, but when you add up all the incidentals, it was actually $7,000. I had been to one place that was $8,100 a month, and I don't like that. This was straightforward, clear, and I thought it was appropriate. Also, it was very bright and cheerful. All the staff greeted me as I walked through the door, saying "Hello" as I walked down the hall and smiling. They had an exterior courtyard where a person could walk out on their own without assistance, but the courtyard was checked every 10 minutes. I liked the fact that a person could walk if they wanted to go out. It's important to go outside and have sunshine. Another reason I liked it was I had great reviews from three people, including my doctor. He said, "You can't miss that place. It's terrific." Another reason why I liked it, my daughter-in-law was in the industry. She knew the person who services that facility for sanitary reasons and he said he would put his family member there and it's terrific. Another reason I liked it was the location. It wasn't that far from me. They have four kitchens. Everybody had their own kitchen and their own dining room, four neighborhoods, as they called them. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and had no smell.

The nursing care, the director and staff at Arden Courts were really good. The facility was beautiful. They had great things for the patients. Everything was all very, very satisfactory. Better than what we thought it could be.

The passion that the staff have for their residents is amazing. They have the right approach when my dad is anxious to get him to sing, get him to change his clothes, laugh. I used to struggle with every task and then feel so guilty that I wasn't able to handle everything witihout being totally frustrated or exhausted by the end of the day. I can be his daughter again and now I laugh and sing with him. Thanks for giving me back my dad.

My mom is currently in Arden Courts of Bingham Farms. She's been there for about a month now. I think there are people there that are absolutely wonderful but I do still think they are under staff. I am about to talk to one of the people there. I had to give some time to see how things work and see what I have observed, so I will be able to do that. I think mom is treated fine in the facility. I will recommend them to others, but I do think people need to follow up and be there and see what's happening and establish a relationship with the caregivers. Because ironically, the lowest paid people that worked at Arden Courts are the people with the most responsibility and that's caring for a family member.

I've been to Arden Courts a number of times--on tours and working on community events. It's an assisted living facility that's completely secured for dementia care. They also offer hospice care on site. The facility is very nice. It's divided into "neighborhoods" and laid out in a kind of big circle around a courtyard, so the residents can walk around safely. Most of the rooms are single occupancy; a few are doubles. The rooms are small--just a room with a bathroom--but that's partly by design. They want the residents to be out and active, not stuck in their rooms. There's 24-hour nursing, and the care staff is warm and welcoming. They're always engaging and redirecting the residents. They have a full activities calendar, too, that includes evenings and weekends and tailors activities to each stage of dementia. Just two cautions: If a resident is too aggressive or combative, they'll require him or her to leave. And parking is limited. (It's located off busy roads in suburban Detroit, close to physicians' offices and not far from a hospital.)
