My wife has been in Brookdale Bay City for a week and a half, and things are working out really well. They are a good choice because right at this point, my wife still needs a lift to use the bedpan. She is slowly getting to where she'll be able to stand and do things better. But they're the only one in the area that offers a lift. And this place is only 2.3 miles from my house. The people there are very friendly. They're taking care of my wife's meds. They're taking care of all her needs well. Plus, all their meals are home-cooked right there. They don't get into all the processed stuff, so they're pretty good. The staff has been really good. They are very accommodating and very friendly. After talking to them, it's one of the things that I was pretty comfortable with before my wife went in. The girls that come in to help have all been pretty good. Regarding food, I took a couple of bites from my wife's plates just to check it out, and it's pretty good. They have a true low-salt diet there. My wife has problems with her ankle swelling, and now she is improving because the food has less salt. They keep the building very clean. And they have activities going on quite often. They had a thing for Halloween, and they have a church service in the front if you want to go. When they all get together in their little dining room, they're all whooping it up. They seem to be getting along very well with everybody. It's a pretty positive environment.

My husband was a resident of Brookdale Bay City, and it's a nice place. The staff is very nice. I guess he liked the food. His dementia kind of played a role in there, but he didn't complain about it. The place was very clean, and it was close to my home. The outside looked nice and pretty.

Brookdale Bay City Memory Care has been wonderful. The staff is very friendly, supportive, it's very clean, and the food is good. Everybody has been rallying and very helpful. Mom just moved in. They have crafts, music, karaoke, dancing, transportation services, they have a flower garden, and a salon. The atmosphere is cozy.

My husband stayed at Brookdale Bay City for about three months. It was a locked down unit, but I wasn't impressed with them. They didn't know how to take care of aggressive patients, but otherwise they were good to him. The food was fine. The room was small and the price was too high.

My dad is in Brookdale Bay City. It is close to the rest of his family and it seems to meet our needs. It looks more like a home, and they serve 3 meals a day. They basically do anything he needs to have done, so he is getting his needs met.

My mother-in-law had stayed in Brookdale for respite care. We felt that they did a good job. The rooms were clean, large and well kept up. The dining area was fine. The yard seemed very nice. She said the food was bland, but she did not have any problem with it. They took them for ride around the city. They took them to the stores. They played bingo and trivia. The neighborhood was very nice.

I like Brookdale Bay City (Formerly Clare Bridge of Bay City) a lot. The facility was absolutely beautiful. They had a cook, and the meals were topnotch. They bake cookies and muffins. They have the residents participate in all kinds of different little activities from matching socks together to separating the silverware, just memory things. They encourage them to come out of their rooms. My uncle has not come out of the room at either one of the other facilities, but he actually was coming out of his room and eating in the dining room here. They have a beautician come in once a week, and he let her shave him and cut his hair whereas at the other two facilities, he did not. The food was great, and they let me eat there for free. They had carpeting in the rooms, and you can decorate them anyway you want. You can also bring your own furniture in. He had a private bathroom, but it did not have a shower in it. They took him down to another shower area. They had all the handicapped equipments and lift chairs in this other place, but he had his own commode and his own sink. It's an a la carte with a private pay facility. I had to bring his own depends, adult washcloths, and toiletries. They had bingo and a sitting TV place where they had a popcorn machine. They could also have coffee, tea, fruits, and snacks anytime they want to. They had a real big nice front porch, and they would take the residents out there. They had an area in the back that was closed in. They could go out there and sit, and they had a little flower garden back there. The staff was fantastic, just the nicest caring people. I brought his dog up there all the time, all the residents just loved his little dog, and you could also keep your pets there. I would definitely recommend them.

Clare Bridge of Bay City looked very nice and it was almost home-like. The rooms were like a small apartment and like a really luxurious hotel room. The staff were pleasant and the residents appeared happy, nice-looking and friendly. I saw one lady had her dog and that impressed me. I did not see anything that would set off alarm bells. It was clean and one of the nicest facility I saw.
