My mom moved into The Avalon of Auburn Hills. I know they have activities, which is a good thing for her because, at the place she was at, they didn't have activities for her to do. At The Avalon of Auburn Hills, they have three meals a day, and they assist them with bathing. My mom has a small room that has a bathroom inside of it. It's a nice decent-sized room. It's not too big for her because she doesn't need too much space, but it's a reasonable-sized space. And they have bigger options if the person needs them. What my mom has is nice for her. It's pretty spacious but not too gigantic for her. We haven't had any complaints, and I know she loves the environment there. The staff are very helpful. I would recommend them. They're very friendly. They're very communicative. I know my mom enjoys the food. I've seen the dinner that they serve, and it looks like pretty good food. It's great. I think they opened a little bit before COVID, so it's a 5 for cleanliness. It's very up-to-date. It's very clean. They keep up with everything. For activities, they had a social happy hour a couple of days ago where they had an hour with all the residents going to this nice little area to talk and such. I really can't say exactly what activities they have, but it's like different variations. And they have an option to participate or not if they want to or not, so that's pretty cool.

I toured The Avalon of Auburn Hill. I liked the room layouts and they were good. I liked that it was built around a courtyard. The building was in a square and it wouldn't matter which way you turned out of your room, as long as you kept going, you would find the dining hall. They had a beautiful courtyard area, so residents could be outside and be quite safe, and not get lost. The dining area was very pretty. It looks spacious. I like that they had several tables without any chairs, so people in wheelchairs could go right up to them and not have to shuffle furniture around. I met the activity director, the head of the nursing staff, and the person who gave me the tour.

The nice thing about The Avalon of Auburn Hills was that it was spacious and pretty. They're very average besides the fact that they looked nice. They didn't have any extra amenities or anything above the bare minimum standard amenities that all of them had. The other thing was that the staff was very standard.

I really enjoyed touring The Avalon of Auburn Hills. The tour guide was very accommodating in answering all of my questions and explaining everything about their facility. It was very updated, clean, and lovely. Every room has access to a number of windows to bring in natural light. All of the staff seemed to really interact well with one another. It had an art room, game rooms, and printed out puzzles that were put down so you can go by and get some of those puzzles to stimulate your brain. They have a lot of activities every week for the residents, and they also incorporate the families once a month into the activities. There's a variety of room sizes. It offered a two-bedroom room that was quite spacious.

I visited and I thought it was more like a spa than a medical facility if you will, and that was very positive. That's actually the one that I favored the most currently. The staff members were knowledgeable and very friendly.
