I first visitied the Wachusett Manor with my parents, while looking for my Great Aunt. It was clean, and the staff were attentitive. They had activities daily, resident nurses as well as visisiting, and even local volunteers. IN terms of the facilities, they were pretty drab. The place as located behind a small shopping center, the views were of basically parking lots and the local dunkin donuts. I did feel like my Grat Aunt would be well looked and cared for here, but at the same time, I felt as though the place felt very hospital like and not homey...It was easy to walk into from the street and you would not be questioned if you decided to just randomly wal around the grounds. But as I said before the "grounds" were non other than a parking lot. It was affordable and what we needed at the time but I wouldn't of recommended it for someone who had a bit more in budget for thier loved one to stay. All and all she never complained, and I never found her in bad health on unannounced visits. She seemed to enjoy the daily bingo, and shared a room with a nice lady. The downside was the woman outside her door whom the staff left unattended crying for help on a daily basis.
