I am the daughter of a current resident. Let me just say our family is finally at ease knowing how well mom is being cared for and in such a beautiful environment. She’s made new friends and couldn’t be more pleased with how pleasant the staff is. For the first time in a long time my husband and I can travel and enjoy getting away without worrying about her welfare. When we speak on the phone she fills me in on her activities and I fill her in about ours. It’s such a relief seeing her happy and entertained.

Sugar Hill Senior Living Community is elegant. It's a mansion, so it's very beautiful. But the living spaces are just a room, not like a little apartment, so you're just in one room. They have a different approach than the other place. They let you find your way and then slowly introduce you to the amenities. They have a bus that takes people to places. They have menus for dinner, and they have specials for the day. However, I thought it was for much older people. Everything seemed very subdued when I went. It's probably great for older sedentary people. I think, for them, this would be a perfect spot. It has beautiful grounds and beautiful porches.

I went to see Sugar Hill Senior Living Community for my mom. It has a luxurious feel, but an older feel. They have a great variety of rooms in the original building. Some of them are very large and expansive. Some of them are much smaller. Some of the amenities are a private dining room if you want to use it for family meals occasionally, a library, and meeting rooms. They also have beautiful grounds. The staff is outstanding.

My mom was there in the locked unit for the last year of her life. The CNAs were VERY kind to her—talked to her, kept her clean, helped feed her.The activities person claimed to provide services to meet each resident’s needs—far from the truth, only the needs of the most able were addressed. The day head nurse was incompetent: one time I thought my mother was having difficulty breathing. A CNA went to get the nurse who refused to come—eating her lunch. Only when I began to call for an ambulance did she deign to come. It turned out my mom was only having a panic attack—clearly though the nurse didn’t care about a reason. Back to positive things: maintenance is excellent and maintenance staff is kind and helpful. Food preparation is great, as are the kitchen and serving staff. In short, much about Sugar Hill is good/great: CNAs, facilities, most staff, food. Downside: activity director/activities, nurses.

I had my mother at Sugar Hill. The staff is excellent, and it is fabulous for the money; you couldn't find a better place. My mother raved about the food. They did have wonderful activities going on that I have seen very briefly. She was in the locked ward and that could be more like the other areas. It was very, very nice, but they need more things for them to do.

From the moment you drive onto the grounds at Sugar Hill, you are transported to a different era. The facility is outstanding. The caregivers are truly that - they care for the residents individually - with kindness and respect. The dining at Suagar Hill deserves it own review. WIth an on site green house, the food service is better than most of the restaurants in the area. Weather permitting, residents dine al fresco - on a gracious outside terrace among flora and fauna. The nursing staff is a well oiled machine, the professional staff has high standards, yet give personal attention to each resident. This is quality care in an exemplary facility. 5 Stars.

This was a beautiful place and I would live there when I reach senior years and need assistance. The staff was wonderful, they have a beautiful dining room with restaurant quality food! One special memory of this facility, on Christmas Eve they have a prime rib dinner for all the residents and their family are welcome to come for a reasonable price. My family enjoy spending Christmas Eve with my mother here. The dining was decorated with a tree and all in green and red, making it a welcoming environment. It was very nice for us to have a wonderful memory spending time with my Mother without the feeling of a nursing home. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for assisted living for either themselves or for a family member. This was a very stressful time in our lives and this wonderful facility understood this, showed the highest respect for their residents!

My grandmother had to move to this facility after her alzheimer's progressed and I must admit the service was great and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that needs assisted living.
