I am/was a resident of this facility

2to a room,staff was friendly but stern.pt did wonders,got me walking again .food wasn't good,kept ignoring my choices.all in all nice place

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am very pleased with the progress my husband has made. The staff is attentive and caring. I know he is safe here and that is a relief to me. The take covid precautions seriously and they coordinate his dialysis trips and Drs. visits. He was at another facility where he he dislocated his hip and they refused to call 911, so I had to call. The rooms are very good size which makes visiting so much more pleasant. Another facility he was at was good; although the rooms were small and there seemed to be less interaction with the staff and patients than at Bourne Manor. The food is also better at Bourne Manor. I visit quite often and at different times and can see the quality of care he and the other patients are receiving.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister did not eat more than a spoonful or two of flavored yogurt 2 or 3 x per day and often less. she did not consume liquids. Staff lied to my face about her food consumption, despite pointed questions. She fell out of bed and was not referred for testing to detect injury.She attended therapy but could not stand or raise her arms or respond by speaking-we were not told this. when she entered, 10 days earler, she could speak and eat and drink. We removed her to an ER where she received IV liquids and became alert and responsive and able to communicate clearly. A severe UTI was detected. She was sleeping and unresponsive, her mouth hanging open, and we were told she was having a good day. She lost so much weight she looked like a starvation victim and could not sit up straight when we removed her. She is responding miraculously well after less than 2 hours at ER at Beth Israel/Deaconess Boston.quality of food irrelevnt since she didnt eat it. Lovely facilities inadequate staffing esp. weekends. Provided no IV nutrition or diagnostic testing, failed to observe severe decline in condition.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Do not let any family members be admitted into this hole. My mother has COPD and they drugged her up so much that she could not breathe even with oxygen. Records are not computerized and there are not enough nurses to provide adequate care. I am sure that the nurses and aides are doing the best they can under the circumstances-but, they would not send her to a hospital until they gave her more meds for pneumonia. Other things happened and thank goodness my mother was transferred to a hospital where they discovered that Bourne Manor had misread/misdiagnosed pneumonia. Also, my mother has been very sick and should not have been sent to that place in the first place-as they do not have the capability to provide IV hydration and medication-they had no business admitting her. The food looks like slop-inedible.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

When I visited my Great Uncle here at the nursing home in Bourne, MA called: Bourne Manor. At first I thought that it was a really good nursing home, the nurses and staff seemed really nice and efficient in getting their patients needs accomidated. I noticed when 2 staff members came in my uncles room to assist him with being changed and cleaned up, that they were man handling him and being rough with him. That explains where he got the bruises on his arms (the bruises almost looked like the imprints of someone's handprints.) Another time I visited my uncle here at this facility, it took his nurse 2 hours to bring him his medication that he needed for anxiety and sleep aid. Which left him impatient, anxious and distressed...The staff should be more aware of each individual patients needs, since each and every patient has different scheduales, medications, likes and dislikes. This facility even claimed that they "lost" one of my uncles prescriptions of medication, which is hard for me to believe since the nurses and staff on site keep each resident patients medication locked up in a locked cabinet. The nursing home even sent in a staff member from an outside agency called: "Hospice" which wanted my aunt to put my uncle in this program since he has alzhiemers disease. My aunt didn't want to put my uncle into this program, since she had already dealt with them in the past with her mother (my great aunt) and she said that the program "Hospice" basically loaded her up on morphine and other pain medications (which supresses breathing and lung function) they said this would make her "more comfortable" but she looked miserable and ended up dying of C.O.P.D. I was devastated. (she also was a patient at Bourne Manor when she passed away.) I wanted to make sure that my uncle didn't have a miserable stay and be forced to join "Hospice", so we took him out of Bourne Manor and brought him home to take care if him with help from round the clock P.C.A.'s (personal care assistants) From the company called: Cerebral Palsy. Now since he is out of Bourne Manor he is able to now walk with assistance and feed himself with assistance, before when he was staying as a patient at Bourne Manor he could not do any of those things he can now. Bourne Manor had him loaded up on medications that would make him unaware of everything and incoherently not be able to even talk. That is my personal experience of dealing with the nursing home my Great Uncle was in called: "Bourne Manor."
