My mom is in Hagerstown Healthcare Center. It's not the best place, but that's where she is right now, and we don't want to move her. It's a nursing home and it's not very clean. They're also very short-staffed so they're not very attentive to her. Yesterday was the first time I've seen the food and, I guess it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't eat it personally, but she's on a soft diet so it's ground up. I guess it's fine. Her room was very small. There are 3 people in one room, and it was not clean. Yesterday was the first time I got to see her room because they just opened up. They let us go to her room and the floor was dirty. When we come to visit, if we had to make an appointment and we make an appointment for 2 o'clock, it may be 2:30 or 2:45 before they bring her down. She's also agitated because they rush or tried to get her dressed when they know in advance that I have a visit so it's a lot of waiting. The activity director there is a nice person and a caring individual. To me, the place is not very good for your money plus you have 3 people in a room so it's very crowded because it's a very small room. The staff is not bad, just short staffed so they can't be everywhere at once. I'm sure it's not all their fault. They gave her therapy when she first came but they said she didn't cooperate so they're not doing therapy.

This is the worst place I've ever seen. The staff was negligent, the food was horrible and the facilities were below par. They didn't even have safety bars in the bathroom at the toilet. I would not recommend this place to your worst enemy.

The doctors suggested that my husband should be put in a home and they transferred him to Golden Living. A couple of weeks later, I fell and I moved to Golden Living, too. It's a nice place and I don’t have any problems with them at all. The rooms were okay. I don't think the size of the bed was bad at all. I was in a bigger room that had three beds, so that was nice too. The food is fine with me, as it seems like he eats everything. The residents were nice. I moved out yesterday. They had all the ladies down there folding towels and I thought that was really something nice. I told one girl that this is really good. These women were folding towels and I thought that was really something for them. I enjoyed watching them. They were giving him a bath and we had time to get down there and watch the women do that and I enjoyed it myself. I would recommend them and if anything happens to him again, I would want him to go back there as it's a nice home and it's clean. They were really good to both of us. You won't see messes like some of the other homes I've been in. There is no odor. My husband is always clean and the staff is wonderful to both of us.

The doctor has us set up and my cousin goes in at Golden Living tomorrow morning. From the couple of times I had been in recently, I liked that every time I had gone in there, I'd seen someone cleaning the walls and baseboard. I liked that the facility appears clean. I have had also a pleasant experience with both the lady who helped us put my cousin in as well as their financial advisor. They were both very good as far as helping and were very pleasant. They had a cafeteria, an activities room and a therapy room. They also had a place where they can get their hair done.

The staff is very nice and careful with the patients. My grandmother enjoyed living there even though she wasnt happy about going into assisted living in the first place

The Golden Living Center in Hagerstown is a God-sent. The facility is a cozy, clean, with an air of freshness, warmth & entertainment. They welcome you with open arms like family. They make the transition into their facility very graceful, with clear understanding of their position & what is to be expected of them as to the care of your loved ones. They treat your loved ones with such diligence, respect, & admiration. They meet with you & your loved ones to confer as to what was being said, done, analyzed and necessary for your loved ones goals and rehabilitation, in order to either get them back home to you or towards the long term care at their facility. You & your loved ones opinionsmatter always. They encourage you to voice your concerns or invite your ideas. They are fully staffed with many options for you and your loved ones needs 24/7. They direct you to a number which they have on notice @ all times, for you to use if you need to draw your concerns outside of the facility to a more influential delegation. They meet with you on a daily basis and confer with you once a week to update your concerns or their progress or concerns. There beliefs are their patients are their family and their number one concern above all! God Bless Golden Living Centers.
