terrible that is why I rated no stars our family member lived there they never repaired the furnace for 2 years black stuff was being blown out, food terrible and the cost is expensive, no one never at desk after 5, so forget any emergency , but a big problem is our family member passed away and the room has been rented out 7 months ago and still haven't got the money back.

Glen Meadows Retirement Community has terrible food and most of the staff are rude, unhelpful, and they ignore the resident’s requests. One employee, Gretchen, repeatedly changes the grocery shopping days and schedule without telling residents, which disrupts our plans for going out with family or getting food. She has also been extremely disrespectful to many residents. The food has also become inedible and everyone I know living there throws their lunches and dinners away, which is why grocery shopping is so important. Covid cannot be blamed for everything, the food has been terrible for years and getting progressively worse.

While staying with an older friend recently I was surprised at how disappointed she really is with how things are going regarding her move to Glen Meadows. Though her unit was done over just for her. Everything was done in an effort to save money, and to do it quickly (not a great painting job) and it shows. Cheep appliances, TINY bathrooms, she wasn’t able to dispute the granite color and she choose and didn’t get the final say on it. It’s too dark and that’s not the sample she saw. She also has to walk to the other side of the complex to throw out her trash which is ridiculous! Who does that in a retirement community! Every single hallway should have their own trash receptacles (inside or outside). The on staff Dr. isn’t taking new clients and you can’t understand the other Dr on staff. Food is ok though garlic and oregano need to be used especially in Italian dishes (I can vouch for that). I didn’t like that the only dining room which is in the basement has NO WINDOWS! They try to make it nice but…it’s still a basement with no windows. I’ve seen in other facilities a smaller dining option for light meals in another part of the facility where you could meet for coffee/ice cream etc. and they might stay open until 7pm. This would be nice especially if it were to be in an area that has sunlight and windows. I noticed that it seemed like there was mismanagement and miscommunication between different departments. When she requested that something be repaired. Her request went un noticed and after speaking to her last night she said the repair was finally done (it’s been 10 days) though the steps are still a mess and full of debris. I’m disappointed, that with all that land they own Glen Meadows don’t have a pool!!! It doesn’t sound like there are plans for one either. Wow that would be a tremendous draw. At the vary least offer rides several times a week to a community pool. They do offer once a week in the summer ONLY I was told. Although her unit has a nice view, I’m not sure I’d recommend this place to my parents or would want to live here myself in a few years.

My mother passed away while she owned her apartment at Glen Meadows. Be forewarned that they can hold your deposit from your family until the the unit is resold. In my case this has been 2 YEARS. My mother's estate cannot be settled until this matter is resolved. While living there, my mother's maintenance requests were ignored and her food was often served cold.

I toured Glen Meadows Retirement Community. It was very, very nice. It was gorgeous inside, and they made the rooms look like new before each resident moved in. At that time, you actually had to purchase the apartments. It was a three-room apartment consisting of a bedroom, a living room, and a small kitchenette. Then they could move to continuing care from there. The only bad thing about it was that my father is legally blind, and he would have to make his way down this long hall to an elevator, which he could not do because he could not see. However, the place was lovely. The dining room even looked like a restaurant, with all the napkins on the table and you order what you want. The grounds were also lovely. The lady who I dealt with, she was also very lovely. It just wasn't a good fit for my dad.

My grandmother is a resident of Glen Meadows and she tells us constantly how terrible the food is there. Always cold. No variety. Not consistent. The menu repeats itself. She’s had stale bread and ice cold steak. The residents will complain but it never goes anywhere, the staff simply brush it off. I’ve heard from many of my grandmothers friends who also live there how much they hate the food.

In my humble opinion 24 hour home health care service should give there clients there medications , take out the trash, change the sheets on the beds, not service spoiled milk, and fill out the daily care sheets at the END of there shifts not 15 minutes after the START of a 8 hr shift . In my humble opinion for about $570 a day.

Glen Meadows' apartment was very small, which would be fine for one person, but it didn't suit us. The pricing was a little high. The staff was quite friendly and very knowledgeable. The grounds looked fine and well-manicured, and the location was nice and a little bit out in the country with trees all around it.

I like the surroundings at Glen Meadows, but again very expensive. It’s a very old community, but it would be perfect for where my children live. You have to go outside to where the restaurant would be, which I don’t like. It is an open land -- a lot of beautiful trees, lot of acreage, beautiful view to look at. You have an individual floor plan. It is an old building, they do change things if you want things changed. The view is really beautiful, and from what I can gather from talking to people I know, you buy your place, but then you have that monthly fee, and it is very high. For scenery and for locality, I love the Glen Meadows. I have friends who moved there, and they seemed to be pleased with everything. People that I know are happy with it.

My 93 year old father was living in another local retirement community in Towson. Four years ago the price of his apartment was going up dramatically, so I decided to compare where he was living to other retirement communities. I found Glen Meadows and it was a much more affordable community. While it was price that motivated me to move him at a very healthy 89, it is obvious now that I did the right thing. First, Glen Meadows is a smaller more intimate community. The whole staff is very attentive to my father's needs and treat him with dignity and respect. When I am not in towsn, I can rely on the Executive Director to give me a call if she or one of the staff become concerned about my dad. I am able to then address the situation. It has given me peace of mind. Secondly, the food is excellent! The chef and his staff prepare meals with FRESH ingredients and no repetitive, frozen, "institutionalized" foods are served. Our family often joins dad for the delicious Sunday brunches and we have even opted to enjoy Easter brunch there instead of going out each year. Dad always says there is plenty of variety. Thirdly, the activities are numerous. Dad enjoys the movies, but there is so much more to do. Being Catholic, he also appreciates receiving communion at Glen Meadows. Also, transportation is available to special events (which are planned) or just to go shopping. Dad gets a ride to church every week. Our family is more than delighted with the move to Glen Meadows, but it is my father whose opinion matters most and he enjoys living there.

Glen Meadows Retirement Community is a good fit for my mother. The staff is pleasant, eager to help and cheerful. Staff members actively engage with my mother and other residents. The community is clean, kept up and the staff is open to requests for necessary updates. Having eaten with my mother, I know the food is tasty and well prepared. The staff in the dining area get to know the residents and provide food to accommodate the dietary restrictions. The primary contact for Glen Meadows is friendly AND involved with the residents. Our decision to choose Glen Meadows was influenced a great deal by the input and compassion of their Director of Sales.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful at Glen Meadows. The people there are very friendly. They really made my sister and mom feel very much at home and welcome. They kind of live independently but they can get care if they needed. They have a dishwasher and a full kitchen. They have activities and planned outside tours as well. It is very clean. One of my coworkers recommended it to me and I have recommended it to another coworker.

I saw a couple of two-bedroom apartments at Glen Meadows, and I liked them very much. I also liked the idea of being able to have couple of cats there, as they're a pet friendly community. Also, the apartment that I looked at, though I don't know if we would be able to have that one, somebody had screened in the balcony, which would have been ideal because you could sit in the sun there. I also liked the idea that there was a kitchen there, and if you don't like to go to dinner, you could fix yourself a snack. They had services to grocery stores, shopping, or a doctor's office if you wanted to. The lady that worked with us was very friendly, and I liked her very much. I thought she was very honest about everything. She gave us a good feedback and materials to bring home to read. Another thing that was impressive was that it looked very clean and nice. We were very happy, and though we visited other places, I decided that's where we wanted to go. I likd the community, and I also likd where it was because it wouldn't be that far away from my son, who will be only a mile from us.

My mother has lived at Glen Meadows Retirement Community for over a year now. It was a very hard decision to make. However, we could not be happier with our decision. My mother loves it there. I love knowing she is taken care of and I don't have to worry about her. The staff is very caring and make sure she gets involved in activities. She gets her hair and nails done weekly. There is a church service on Sundays. One thing we looked for was cleanliness. It is a very clean facility. It does not have unseemly smells. I have never seen a resident in an undressed state. The staff is very good about the residents keeping their dignity. They keep me informed of everything that is going on. I would highly recommend Glen Meadows. They have quickly addressed any concerns and we have quarterly meetings so that we are all on the same page as to her care plan. I am very happy - but the most important thing is that my mom is happy.

Glen Meadows is the best place! My Mother has lived here for more than eight years and she is very happy. The staff members are just great, and my whole family enjoys our visits to Glen Meadows. We looked at alot of places before we made this choice, and we are so pleased that we choose Glen Meadows.
