I have been very impressed with the care and compassion of the staff at Northampton Manor. The rooms are kept very clean and are well light and bright! The food is terrific and is served hot! Physical therapy is excellent and engages the residents in a fun and interactive way. This is mom's favorite part of the day. My mom is very happy to have found this place to live. She said she didn't think a nursing home could be this wonderful. Thank you, Mike, Heather, and the entire staff, for your fantastic care.

I am so thankful for Northampton Manor. My Mother is a resident there. She is so well cared for. The facility is clean and bright, the staff are so caring and compassionate. My Mom is always clean and dressed in clean clothing, fed good, hot meals, and her medical needs are seen to. She has physical therapy every day, can get her hair done at the salon, can have her meals in the spacious dining room, and join in any of the various activities if she chooses. Heather, the Admissions Director, was my angel in helping me to get her settled in there. I am so thankful for Northampton Manor.

Push your call button. Be prepared to wait. For everything. You are left to feel you are an inconvenience. It's actually dangerous. What if you had a medical emergency.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. The care received here is substandard. Currently a resident here for a few days. I have special needs for meals, this was explained to the person in charge of kitchen. I have been here 3 days. I have only gotten one meal I was actually able to eat most of. Several times the food was something I could not eat so went hungry. Saying something to nurses/aides does no good. They tell you is too late to do anything. You can push your call button for assistance, I have waited up to 2 hours for a response, on a few occasions I have gone to go find them. Rehab lasts about 10-15 minutes a day. There are 2 nurses/aides that have been excellent. I wish they were on duty the whole time I am here. Or maybe they could teach the others how to interact with the patients and treat them. Just because we are “stuck” here for any amount of time does not mean you can treat us like “nothing”. Our concerns, questions and care should not be ignored. Once I am out of here I will add to the condition and treatment.

I have read the other reviews on this facility but let me say, I found them to not be the case. I fractured my hip while visiting my son. I am 86 years old. The staff was so nice. My room was very clean, the admissions department did and excellent job of making sure I was taken care of. Rehab was fantastic, I was walking well with a walker in less than a week and I discharged to my son's home within 17days. The nurses were so caring and very courteous. The Activity Director, Morgan, made sure I was taken to the sing a longs and even stayed with me while their beauty shop did my hair. I cannot thank the staff at Northampton manor enough for my speedy recovery

If you love and value your aging parents/guardians/grandparents/great-grandparents/significant other, please, for the love of chicken nuggets, send them to another nursing/long-term care facility but this place!!! Before my great aunt passed away, I came here to visit her. the hallways reeked of urine and feces from the soiled linens and the residents' personal items, the nursing staff was very unprofessional, loud and rude by talking bad about one of their coworkers and not giving a crap if they were disrupting the residents and their visitors, I've spotted some of the nurses and aides walking around with their earbuds listening to music or having a conversation with someone on their phones and some of them were texting and looking at social media while tending to the other residents, and the food was terrible!!! My great aunt wouldn't get her meal for at least 2 hours then the food is cold. As for housekeeping, Ha!!! They're a joke! They don't even clean my great aunt's room properly and it's so sad that I even take the initiative to bring my cleaning supplies from home to clean her side of the room. I feel bad at the fact that this facility is understaffed, but they need to fire the nursing and aide staff and hire professional people who care. As for the receptionists, rehab staff, residents and activities staff, they're amazing!!! I don't know how they put up working with a bunch of young ghetto low-lifes who call theirselves nurses and aides but they're the ones who keep that place going!!!

On the surface you may think this is a clean, caring facility. You would be wrong. The staff is among the most uncaring and under trained workers I have ever seen. They are rude and nasty to the patients on a very consistent basis. They do not respond to calls in a timely manner. It normally takes at least an hour plus to get any response. The food is cold and hard at just about every meal. I witnessed staff sitting in the hallway on their cell phone while the food sat there getting cold. This is probably one of the worst places I have ever visited as far as patient care. I am very happy that my relative is now in a SAFE, CARING environment. Northampton Manor needs to be investigated. Horrible.

Facility is clean but very poor medical needs of the patients , nurses are very under trained and have very poor attitudes with the patients . Their response times to the patients are very poor . The patients are not well cared for in anyway . If you are not able to do for yourself or don't have family i would not choose this place for my loved one ever . Patients food is always cold and hard they don't give good portions to the patients at all .

My mom has been at North Hampton for over 3 years now. She has early dementia and diabetes. For the most part she is mobile and very active with the activities. I love the activities director and the people that help out with that. The medical side needs a push, they will not take the initiative unless the family requests it. The rooms are clean for the most part, but the bathrooms need to be cleaned everyday in my opinion. The food is not bad but when it reaches my mom's room it's not very hot and the drinks are always warm we always have to request a cup of ice. And yes I do notice that people are crying out for help when I walked down the hall to visit my mom sometimes and it is very sad. For those of you that are going the extra mile to make sure my mom's wants and needs are met, keep up the good work you rock!!! Lastly most of the staff are very kind and courteous.

I visited few patients of mine in this place with my 3 nieces. All of them were crying seeing one patients soiled with his poop and urine. He smelled terrible! According to him (he can't walk), he had called for over 3hrs for help but none until we got there.

My father was at this facility for Approx. 6 weeks. My father had dementia, the staff did not treat him with respect, he was unable to feed himself or walk. His food tray was left sitting, they did not try to feed him. He was left unattended. After being here his health deteriated rapidly. He had a broken hip, but was not given any type of physical therapy, therefore his body locked. When we finally got him home he passed 2 days later.

My wife was there for about 3 weeks. While the physical therapy staff were excellent the medical care side was sadly lacking. Under their care my wife developed pneumonia and sepsis. Even after I pointed out them that she was quite ill they just continued to do as little as possible.

The activity attendants and other members of staff are great!! The rooms could be kept cleaner. And maybe 1 bathroom to include a shower per room? There is a co-Ed shower room and my mom doesn't care to bathe. They are under new management so I hope things will change for the good! Otherwise I am up there several times a week so I keep them on their toes. But many residents don't have visitors and stay in bed.

My brother was at Northampton Manor Health Center, and he was not pleased with it. I felt the room was fine. He was not really happy with a lot of the staff there. My brother also said they were not welcoming at all.

My mom is currently in a nursing home facility. She is at Northampton. They're very prompt and they always let you know if there is an issue. They keep the family informed and I'm grateful with how they communicate. I had come across them initially when my mom was in the hospital. They wanted to make sure that my mom will continually receive the care that she needed. She has dementia and can be quite obstinate. Because of that, it was virtually impossible for her to stay with me and so the doctor had written the order for her to go into a nursing home. They gave me three options to pick from and Northampton was my top option. My mother had been there since August, I believe. So far so good. I think it is really nice. There are a lot of nursing homes here and it is one of the better ones. The only difficulty I had with them is they're really not direct enough when it comes to thorough and complete communication with the administrative process. Like I would email them and they won't respond to me. To me, I think, it's really inconsiderate of them. I'm struggling with that because I don't understand what's their problem that they can't respond to a person's email regarding the health care of their mom in their facility. However, as a whole, it is a wonderful facility.

The patience wanted 8 hours for pain medication. Call his relatives in desparation. Several calls were made no help. Relative had to come to facilty at 1 a.m. to make sure he got his pain meds. Next day, went for a doctor visit. Patience on Oxgen all the time. Tank was almost empty when arrived at doctors office. Got back to the facility, told them he had to go to the bathroom. He was told that patience weren't allow to use a bathroom closes to him. He had an accident. They let him just stand in it. They said he was not allowed to move until they find his assigned wheel chair. Then he was suppose to use the nebulizer. They did not essemble it properly. Relatives told them no medicine was coming out. They insisted nothing was wrong until much arguing. Patience said he wanted to take a shower and was told he was only allow to bath twice a week. Staff is rude and unresponsive. This place should be shut down. This is only his third day at the facility.

The staff in Northhampton Manor (the facility I've visited most often) are exceptional. At different times, they cared for both my mother-in-law and father-in-law and provided an exceptional level of care. The facilities are clean and the residents are kept clean as well. They excel at communicating with the family as well.

Northampton Manor in Frederick Maryland is an above average facility with below average care. While the building is nice, the rooms are a decent size and kept clean, and they offer numerous different kinds of activities for the residents, the patients are often left unattended when they need attention the most. A nurse light will remain on for over 20 minutes before someone comes to see what is needed. A resident who needs to be put on a bed pan will be told to wait which often ends up with that resident going to the bathroom on the sheets because the wait time is too long. I don't think it is a matter of the staff not doing their jobs but rather there simply not being enough staff. The week day daytime staff is wonderful and tries their best to get things done in a timely manner but the weekend staff leaves something to be desired. Meal times on the weekend can vary as much as 2 hours later than the residents are used to during the week; this ends up causing numerous problems as many patients are diabetic and require timed meals. Northampton Manor would be a wonderful nursing home if it were properly staffed.

Nice people but very very slow to answer the call light of residents. It scares me to think if my mom had a real emergency
