Woodlands Senior Living of Hallowell was a fairly new building. It's very, very well decorated. It's got a very nice lobby, an entrance, and a beautiful dining room. The private rooms were all well-maintained. There were also double rooms. My mother was there when she needed assisted living and my aunt was there, too. So I went there quite a bit. Their food was pretty good. They had a lot of chair exercises, played bingo, and had movie nights. My mother was a piano player and she would entertain them before dinner by playing it. They often had someone come in and entertain, like a little group with a keyboard, a little saxophone, and a guitar. That happened often. The staff was good. They did their nails for those who wanted them. They also had an onsite hair salon and residents loved going there, puzzles, and a little library.

Woodlands Assisted Living is a modern facility. It is spacious. However, for my mother, who is 95, I didn’t think it would be a good fit for her. The facility was very clean and very spacious. The managers were very good. I thought the staff was very pleasant too. The ground was very nice. It was an open setting. However, I didn’t think it would fit my mom’s taste very well.

The Woodlands is the only other facility that I would have recommended. It was very nice, very clean, it seemed friendly and very inviting, but it wasn't quite the fit for my dad at this point. It is a small community, it probably has about 40 people. The residents seemed engaged, that was important. They weren't all sitting in their rooms, so they were at activities, which is what you want to see.

I visited a friend at Woodlands of Hallowell, and the facility is very welcoming. The staff are all fine. They are always smiling when they greet me, and they are always good to the residents. Every morning they have exercises, and they also play bingo. They do have different people come in and sing. My friend is not happy to be there because she was used to living independently.

We like the openness at the Woodlands when we had a visit at the facility. The place as well as the rooms is very nice. They seemed to have a lot of activities for the patients. I think it was very nice for other people, but not for my aunt because it was too big for her and she wouldn’t be able to handle the interaction with so many people.

The Woodlands Assisted Living Facility is a very modern and up to date facility for seniors. The staff is caring and friendly and the residents seem content with their care. I have visited this facility quite often and have always found it to be well maintained and clean. I have even had lunch there and the food was not what you would expect from a place like this. It was actually very good, just like home cooked food would be. One really nice aspect of the Woodlands is that it has the look and feel of a real home instead of the sterile feel of a nursing home. I would most certainly recommend the Woodlands if you are searching for a care facility for yourself or a loved one.
