My aunt was at Mid Coast Senior Health. It's a very well-kept facility, the staff was very nice and helpful. My aunt seemed quite content, she was receiving very good care. It's a very nice facility. The staff members are very, very good. They have a bunch of activities and they do something every day. In terms of value for the money, we're very pleased with it. There was one person at the time wearing a mask and asking you if you're vaccinated. They vaccinated everybody there. You had to meet with the person in their room, you couldn't go to a congregate area or anything to visit. So, they're very careful about the COVID.

My parents were residents here and we can't say enough good things about the facility and the staff.

A friend of mine has lived at Thornton Hall for approx. 3 years. She absolutely loves it. I myself was reluctant when it comes time to sell my house and move in to an assisted living facility, I thought of it more as a nursing home. When I went to visit her for the first time, I was shocked. It was extremely nice and not what I expected. She had a full kitchen, a full bath and her own bedroom and a living room. It was beautiful with art on the walls and they even had an art exhibit last year featuring residents and their art works on display. Their are an array of on site activities which are convenient. Their are 3 floors to this facility. The first level has a small convenience store which carries items like cards, postcards, newspapers,stamps...etc. There is a walk in library, a readers heaven. Last of all there is a heated walkway which is nice in the winter to another building called Thornton Oaks, which is independent living. We travel over there once a week for bingo and once a month for the salon, great prices by the way. On the second level their is an activities room where my friend participates in yoga classes and on the third level their is an on-site massage therapist that will come to your room if you want,a lot cheaper than others in their own practices. Their are several dining options to choose, eat in you room and get your meal delivered, go to the country kitchen which is nice and quaint if you are having your family or friends over for a meal and their is a large dining room. There are elevators to move among floors making is convenient and more than one so your not stuck their waiting often. The staffing is extremely nice and helpful with my friends morning care. They make sure she gets the pills she needs at the right time. There are laundry facilities on the second level of the building open 24hr, or you also can have your laundry done for you. Bowdoin College is nearby and musicians will come over and sing or play instruments. There is also planned activities for shopping, trips to Fat Boys drive-in, to the beach and theater...etc. The facility provides transportation to these activities. There is also transportation to appointments like the dentist, doctors, or to schedule a trip to visit someone at their home. I haven't been into the gym but their is one on-site that has equipment in it. In the summer there are cook-outs on the patio, and during winter a Christmas fair. I am missing many other activities, but their is any and everything you want to do. I also want to mention their is a doctor and or nurse practitioner at the facility everyday during the week, and someone always on call if something should happen off hours, with a nurse in the facility at all times. If something should happen the staff will give a loved one a call at anytime of the day or night, if they should fall. I definitely don't need to look around for my assisted living facility, this one is a delight.
