My friend moved into Plant Memorial Home a week ago. The administration there is fantastic. They helped with every step of the process. It's a very homey place. It's more like being in your own home. The location is beautiful, and the people are wonderful. They really care about the residents. The medical attention they show him has been excellent. They're on top of his medication, his physical therapy, and occupational therapy needs. They have been very communicative with me any time they had a question or I had a question. His apartment is clean, bright, and cheerful. The floors are brand new. They have big, spacious, and handicapped accessible bathrooms. They have a kitchenette. It is freshly painted. He has a stunning view of the river. My friend says that the food is excellent. He loves to eat, so the food must really be good. I ate there the day I moved my friend in, and the food was excellent. He enjoys socializing with other people in the common room. They have a movie every night after dinner. People can go down and watch TV during the day, if they want to. They do trivia, and they have a pastor that comes for Christian services. They organize outings. They can go to the grocery store on the bus once a week, and they can go to Wal-Mart once a month. They have an exercise class. Last time I was there, I saw a bunch of paintings that the residents had done at a painting class.

We offer nursing staff 24 hours a day. Our staff includes a Certified Registered Medication Assistant and a Certified Nursing Assistant each shift. The nursing staff work under the auspices of a Registered Nurse.
Our focus is a holistic approach to wellness for our residents. This includes not just treating the body, but caring for the mind, spirit and soul. With specific and personalized service plans, nursing staff not only know our residents need for physical assistance, they remember those unique personal details that tailor our approach with each individual.
All meals are prepared in our kitchen using local, fresh produce as well as produce from our own kitchen garden when in season. We offer home-cooked meals that feature a menu designed to please the tastes of our residents.
Special diets are sensibly managed by a licensed dietitian. Friendly wait staff makes meals in our waterfront dining room feel like special occasions. Family and friends are always welcome. We ask that you call us ahead of time when possible, but we will make every effort to make sure surprise visitors can be seated and served.
Local Produce
We get our produce from fresh seasonal markets and our hometown grocer Bracketts Market. Bath is a quaint and quintessential Maine town, located in Mid Coast Maine; twenty minutes from Freeport and forty minutes from the city of Portland. Everything is a minute away and easily accessible to our residents needs.
Kitchen Garden
Rick our maintenance and garden guru started a 20?30 kitchen garden that we intend to use for fresh produce this summer. He walked our extensive property and discovered large crowns of asparagus planted many years ago. We plan to enjoy tender Martha Washington asparagus this spring as a result. Rick is introducing many fruit and berry specimens that are great for eating and a call to the many species of birds in the area.
Dining Requests
We have monthly meetings with our residents to discuss their thoughts on new menu items. We do work with personal requests to ensure healthy substitutes that will better suit the individual's appetite.

I went to Plant Memorial Home and saw the assisted living. They have some independent places onsite, but I think my parents are past that. I'd give them ten thumbs up. I was very impressed with everything they offer. It's just I don't know if my parents would be able to afford it. That would play a factor in our decision, but if I could have them at that place, I would. I was impressed all the way around. They had one of the people that live there give me the tour, which was pretty cool because he was very knowledgeable about everything they have and what they offer. They had an activity center. They had a few ladies doing some crafts and stuff when I was there. They had a living room where they can go and watch TV. They showed me the area where they can go eat and that looked nice. They had a lot of different nooks and crannies where you can go and sit and either read or just kind of take in the sights because this property sits along the Kennebec River. On the east side of the building, you have pretty much beautiful views of the river. On the west side of the building, it's more or less traffic and homes and sidewalks and whatnot. I think it was well structured when they did this, and it's old, too. They've done a lot of updates from what I could see. They just redid all the carpeting in their main area with vinyl flooring and it looked nice. I was pretty impressed with it. I had the opportunity to talk with the nurses and they kind of gave me how they feel about working there and what they want to accomplish for the people that live there. They want this place to be as independent as possible for their tenants. They don't want them to feel like they're in a nursing home setting. They can come and go as they feel. I like the thought that the nurses are there for the residents if they need them. We didn't go there for lunch or anything, but they did show me some pamphlets. They get three-course meals a day and they encourage their tenants to eat at the dining hall because they have the option in their rooms to cook if they want to. I thought the building, being as old as it was, was very well maintained. It kind of mimics the history. They have a lot of old pictures and stuff from way back when and, being it's in Maine and where it's located, it all kind of makes sense. They didn't let it go downhill. I love it. I enjoyed it. I'm glad I went.

We visited The Plant Memorial Home and looked at one of their duplexes. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and very knowledgeable. It seemed very well maintained and pleasant. The place itself was lovely.

Plant Memorial Home is a very nice place. It's a very good home, and it's one of those homes that were built way back which they revamped, so it's awesome. They have activities, a library, and nursing 24 hours a day. They have exercises and arts, and the dining room was nice-looking.

My father is on a waiting list at Plant Home because they only have 5 market-rate apartments. Everything seems fine, and I think it’s a fine facility. The staff is very good, very helpful, and forthcoming with information that put our minds at ease. It was affordable for my father.
