My husband was in Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for a while for nursing and skilled rehab services. I would have to go back there because they didn't give us all his clothes when he left. The care was very good, though there were a few things I wasn't happy with. One day I went in to see my husband (since I went every day), and they never told me that he had COVID, which made me mad. They had no reason not to tell me that. The meals were good and everything else I thought was good. The only other thing I didn't care for was that the communication between them and me wasn't exactly what I would have expected. Trying to get a hold of the right people to talk to was often hard, they're very busy. I would have to run out to the nurse's desk to ask questions or try to get a hold of the lady in charge of the care, they're always busy, and I understand that but my time was valuable too. The building was very clean, they had common rooms and different dining areas. It's beautiful outside, it's an older building but it's very nice. Overall, I was really satisfied except for the lack of communication at some point. I thought it was very expensive, that's one of the reasons why we left, and it's self-pay for us. The place where he's now is twice as good as this place and costs $500 less a month. They also did activities and they had a monthly sheet of activities that they do with the people. They had pizza parties and things like that, every day was different.
