We've chosen La Plantation Retirement Community for my father-in-law because it was small, and it was cheaper than the other ones we looked at. They have laundry, hairdresser, cafeteria, a dining room, and they have activities. My husband said the food was really good. The staff was really friendly and they helped us a couple of times. They even had people on the weekend to help me. It's a single story facility and it has a really nice library and a chapel.

The staff is amazing at this facility! They are always looking out for the best interest of their residence. I applaud them for all the precautions they have taken with everything going on to keep the residence safe and well. The grounds and facility are breath taking and so beautiful. I could go on and on about the director and asst director. They help however and whenever they can. That means a lot! They definitely go above and beyond. I am forever grateful for all the staff and residence for being so and kind! Absolute Best assisted living community around by far!! Do yourself a favor and go check them out!

I visited LA Plantation Retirement Community, which is an assisted living facility. It was excellent, but when we saw it he was going to live in an assisted living facility and that was perfect. I was really disappointed that we couldn't go in there. The whole place was extremely clean, immaculate, and there was no smell. That's where I would want to live.

La Plantation Retirement Community was very nice. Its homey in a big plantation style place, and we're looking at putting my aunt in there. We met several of the staff members including the kitchen staff; they were very out and about and very friendly. There were lots of activities for them to do. Its very reasonably priced. The rooms were bigger than the other places -- which is nice -- and they have tub and shower combos. It's a bigger, more open space kind of atmosphere.

Mother lived in La Plantation Retirement Community for 2 years. It was very good. There, she had an apartment, and she did her own laundry. They had activities and a cafeteria; she ate well there, so the experience was good. The staff was extremely nice. I still keep in touch with the lady that owned it; she became a friend as well. La Plantation has good food for breakfast and for lunch. At supper, they had sandwiches most nights, and I wasn’t that thrilled with that. Sandwiches at night were not something that mother was used to having because she liked something warm for supper. When she wanted some soups or noodles that she could add some water to and put it in a microwave, I had supplies of that taken in for her so that she could eat whatever she wanted. To me, the beauty of the grounds was phenomenal. They had fountains, fish pools, and a beautiful, great, big three-towered fountain in the front that they could go sit around. They had little park areas in the building that had fish ponds with benches that they could sit around. That really stood out to me because it gave them something other than just seeing the inside of a building.

What I have experienced as a family member -- and I think my mother has experienced too -- is that it has been a great community for her. All of the staff members are looking out for her. She actually got locked out the first night because of the alarm system, and they came to her rescue. La Plantation has just been a very supportive environment for her, and it helped her so much. I think it is excellent. It is like she lives in a hotel now.
