I went to Golden Age Nursing Home. I have another sister there, so we were leaning that way. I have been there many times, and it is always very clean. From what I've observed just visiting with my sister, I think they pretty much care about their clients, and they seem to take care of them to help them out. They don't really keep her room clean-clean, but they do keep the floor clean and her bed clean. As far as her personal stuff, they don't move it around. They dust around it or straighten it up and things like that. I've never eaten there. I've been there when she was eating, but I've never eaten there. They've nice facilities for dining. They got several dining areas, and it depends on what wing the person is in. They also have programs after lunch like bingo. They also bring people to sing for them, and they have a church service. I've never been for any of that. It's a perfect location now. When they flooded in 2016, they chose a very good location to rebuild. They have a gym and an exercise program. They have gardens outside that they can walk around or have visitors in. Other than that, I don't know because I don't look for that; I just go see my sister. I have visited with a lady staff a couple of times, and I asked her questions and different things. She has always been an excellent help and resource. From what I've seen, I think they have a good program. It is a little high for the value for money.

If your loved one is private pay good luck trying to get money back after they pass. 3 months the family should receive a refund of prepayment without any success. Several trips there and phone calls ignored.

If I could give lower than 1 star it still too much! My aunt was placed in this home 1 week ago. She is a 73lb 95 year old woman with some memory issues. After 4 days we were called and told she was getting kicked out due to WONDERING THE HALLS! My aunt was trying to go home. Isnt a retirement home a place that keeps up after your eldery loved ones? Yes, this is the only reason they gave to kick her out. Upon gathering her things to place her elsewhere, we found soiled diapers in her armoir! Yes SOILED! Isnt this a health hazard? Also, she was not given her daily medicine!!! I am looking into report this to some type of board association. Please folks, if you love your family member DONT PUT THEM HERE! It looks nice from the outside but it isnt so nice withen. LOOKS ARE DECIEVING!

Nursing staff not aware of changes that patience have after a hospital stay. Very disorganized, Staff friendly but not nice toward the residents. Very Rude nurses at the lobby station to the elderly(scream and ignore you when you are asking questions). Breaks and eating time for staff are priority over the well being of resident. The director is clueless about the everyday incidents with the staff and does not make time to know the residents or their family. Also, This place needs work!!! Patience fall of bed and they don't know anything and call you with very vague information.

If you love your family member, please look elsewhere for quality care. I wish we would have with mine. RIP. Nursing staff did not follow doctors orders, family requests or standard of care. My family member experienced multiple infections while in their care.

I found that Golden Age made promises during our interview that was not kept. We were told that patients would have an alarm (mat) at foot of bed that would alert staff when patients who were not supposed to walk without assistance got up. This didn't happen. The only alarm we experienced was ankle alarms that alerted staff when patient went out the doors. This allows for a wide range of falls for patients with memory problems who are not physically able to walk.We also experienced that baths were not given on daily basis. Another con was that staff members were not kept up to date on patients conditions. For instance, if they have to go to hospital and return in deteriorated state. This happened to my family member and we experienced rude behavior from a staff member demanding that my family member stand up, which he was not physically able to do.
