Our father was recently a member of The Pearl Family. The staff goes above and beyond to help your loved ones feel welcome, and at home. The staff at The Pearl is guided by excellent leadership, and everyone does their very best to meet the needs of your loved one. The facility is extremely clean, and the size is perfect as to not feel like your loved one is lost in numbers. There are daily activities throughout the week and on the weekends for your family member to stay active, be involved, and meet others. If your loved ones like to be outside, the patio area is wonderful. During our fathers time at The Pearl there was not a single staff person that did not know our fathers name, or any of our family members names. I would highly recommend The Pearl to others.

We will be moving Mom into The Pearl at Jamestown. It's clean, it's bright, and it smelled good. The staff was extremely nice. Everybody there was friendly. The rooms could be a little bigger, but they're not bad (they're enough). The atmosphere was real homey. The sales director had gone out of her way helping us answering questions. My wife tasted the food today, too, and she said it was decent.

We did a tour of The Pearl at Jamestown. The cleanliness of the facility was good. I saw a sample room. The staff who gave me the tour was fine. We were there at lunchtime. We walked by the general dining area as they were eating. The dining area was neat and adequate. The person who gave me the tour was good. She was an administrator, so she knew what she was doing.

I toured The Pearl at Jamestown. It was very nice. I think it's a little more advanced stage memory care than what we're looking for at this point. Possibly at some point we'll have to go there; but right now, I think it's a little more advanced. The staff was very nice. The dining area was nice. It was cafeteria style, and it was pretty basic. The room was basic, nothing fancy. It was kind of small, and the bathrooms were nice. It had a small sink, cabinet space, and a refrigerator, but they didn't have stoves. They had a salon, laundry room, and a movie theater room. They had an area like a hydration station. They had an area for veterans with the jukebox. It was nice. It was nice and clean. No frills. It was just kind of basic furniture, but everything is in order.

I went to The Pearl at Jamestown, and we loved it. We liked that it was smaller. We have a brother that's handicapped who could be there with my mother. So, my mother and my brother could be together, and we like that. We like the idea of how structured it is as far as the way the place is run. The staff was very kind. Everyone you saw stopped what they were doing to greet you. The facility is very neat, and we like the structure of the building. It has a courtyard that patients can just walk in and out of safely. They have a movie room, they have a bathtub if a patient needs to have a bath, and they have lots of lots of concentration on the sensory kinds of therapy. We were there during a meal and we could see the food. The food was fresh and it looked very tasty.

My visit with The Pearl at Jamestown was very good. The facility was beautiful. I was specifically interested in how their facility differed from others, since it is solely memory care. I was impressed with the differences and the attention that they give to teaching their staff how to respond to memory care issues. The person who gave us the tour seemed very knowledgeable. The room was adequate for its purpose. It is smaller than the one my mom has now, but at that stage and grappling with memory issues, I can understand why.

If it hadn't been for the cost, that would've been our number one pick: The Pearl at Jamestown. The facility was beautiful, the layout and the structure. They had a real schedule. There was a dining hall and a game hall. It truly was the crème de la crème. They also would send out updates, like if there were any COVID cases, updates too about visitation, and things like that. They kept in close contact about how he was doing different things. And there was one nurse that I know my husband spoke about. She went out of her way to make things work from his university that he went to. She helped him with numbers and things like that, she made a little chemistry chart. It was just out of the kindness of her heart to give him something different to look at. If money was not an object, that definitely would have been the place. They have private and semi-private I think if you want that option. And the dementia people, each of their doors had a lock on the outside or whatever to the main corridor. So even if they came out of their room, they couldn't just wander off to the front of the building, so it was just better security.

I went to The Pearl at Jamestown. The price was significantly higher than the one I chose, and I did not see the same level of activities, and I did not get the same connection with the staff. The manager wasn't available for the tour, so the chef gave me the tour which I didn't like, she knew the place well, but I thought if they knew a potential resident might be coming then the importance of having the manager/director was overlooked. The rooms were smaller, the gathering areas were tidy, and they were nice. The dining area was fine.

The Pearl is a nice, clean facility in a great location. The rooms are large. The staff is very friendly however, you can tell the nurses and aides are extremely short staffed. They really need to get more nurses and Aides in there so that every patient has a chance to receive equal care. If they were adequately staffed, my rate would have been 5 stars.

I really like The Pearl at Jamestown. It's a very nice community. I think they're doing a very good job taking care of the residents. The grounds are very pretty. The rooms are very cozy, very physically challenged able, very nice, and very clean.
