My mom has been in Barclay House of Baton Rouge for 3 years. The best facility. She's in memory care and they keep her active. They're very friendly and attentive. There's always a nurse coming in or a physical therapist. It's a very clean and nice place. It's a one-room apartment with sizable rooms. The food is good. They have a dining area and plenty of rooms.

I liked Magnolia Brook on Siegen. I'm in a wheelchair, and I was impressed by the roominess of the elevators because in some of the elevators, it was like a tight squeeze. But Magnolia Brook's elevator was extremely roomy. I was impressed with the personnel and the activities that they have. The staff was very cordial and very kind. I was only interested in the one bedroom. You could have a one bedroom, or a one bedroom with a patio, or a studio apartment. Magnolia Brook had a one-bedroom that impressed me because it was larger than the one-bedroom that I had seen in the prior places I visited. The patio was nice, but I really couldn't get on the patio with a wheelchair. I saw the game area and at the time I was there, I thought they were playing bingo, and the cook had prepared me some crab cakes, and they were utterly delicious. They were very good. The staff is very cordial, helpful, and kind.

The people at Magnolia Brook on Siegen met us at the front door and gave us a tour through the whole place. We went right after lunch, so we were able to speak and say hello to several residents. It's a beautiful facility. It's very comfortable and very welcoming. There is glass everywhere and the buildings surround a central courtyard. So, even though they're on a very busy street, it's quiet. The thing that I liked about the place the very best is that everything is at zero threshold. My father, who has very low mobility, can go anywhere he pleases. If you decide to go outside and you just can't quite walk all the way from your apartment to one of the doors that goes outside, there are little seating areas where you can just sit down and rest, and then people tend to come up and say hello. They've got game boards and all kinds of things set up like little reading nooks. It's just cozy and very homey for being a large facility. It encourages independence. So, we really liked it. The apartments were lovely. The other thing we really liked was that they would allow my father to roll up straight to a dining table in his wheelchair. In a lot of places we have found that residents who are in a wheelchair are asked to transfer from their wheelchair to a dining chair at the eating table. This place doesn't have that rule, which is much easier on him. Then they have a private dining room set aside for residents to have a large meal, like for Mother's Day or Thanksgiving, with the extended family. They also have facilities available for families who come and visit to cook. There's a big social room so you can get together with your parents/families and bake Christmas cookies. It's really geared toward making the residents feel at home. The staff was lovely. They have a professional chef onsite and some of the ladies my mom met said the the food was wonderful.

Magnolia Brook on Siegen Lane is a very nice and hospitable facility. They are top-notch. The staff is very nice, very friendly, and very open. My dad said the meals are good. His room is very spacious and beautiful on the inside, with a nice exterior also. They take the seniors out to participate in a lot of activities like bingo. They have a beautiful dining room and they all eat together. They are a bit pricey, but I think that you always pay for what you get. It's worth it since it's a very nice, warm, and positive environment. Seniors will be comfortable, happy, and will be attended to very well by their staff.

My mom was a resident of Magnolia Brook on Siegen. The staff here was much better. One of the things that was nice about them was that they have a kitchen staff, wait staff, and resident aides' staff. They have 24-7 nurses. They have four levels of care, depending on her needs. We went in as a two and left as a four. I was very happy with them over there. You're going to have issues anywhere you go. Any time I had an issue, it was addressed immediately and was addressed properly. The food was much better. She enjoyed it a lot more there until the time we brought her home. She got to where she didn't really care for anything, but the food was fine. They didn't have as many activities, and there was really nothing that she wanted to participate with. Facility wise, she didn't participate in everything. They have a nice hair salon that she did after she got to the point where she couldn't get out much. It was good. They had a theater she never went to; they had things that she didn't participate in. They had an enclosed courtyard that was beautiful. At night, it actually had solar lights. It was gorgeous and really nice. The whole facility is beautiful. We'd always like to spend less, but things were taken care of. It wasn't like they were taking your money and not doing anything with it.

My parents are doing well at Magnolia Brook on Siegen. It's overall good. There's a lot of Covid restrictions right now, but I'm satisfied anyway. Everything's fine. They have meals and some activities, but they're restricted now because of Covid. They have a 2-bedroom apartment. The facility is very nice, nicely finished out, and has nice decorations. My parents have done some of the activities. They also have a salon.

One of the reasons Mom and Dad picked Magnolia Brook on Siegen was that they have memory care facilities and mom is settling into that. I really like the facility. The staff has been attentive. They have worked with the family, and they helped us deal with the fact that Mom and Dad didn't have any kids in the immediate area. I highly recommend them. Mom and Dad started in assisted living, but after Dad passed away, that was no longer a good plan, so Mom moved to memory care. The staff is very good, extremely professional, more than helpful, and caring. They make me feel like they're making my parents part of the family. They said the food was good, but I haven't eaten there personally. They were being treated through a nutritionist's standpoint, so they were being provided with the nutrition they needed.

My mother moved into Magnolia Brook on Siegen a week ago, and I think she likes it. She's getting used to the new surroundings and I'm very happy. The whole staff from the director to the workers are all very caring, and I feel very comfortable with her there. That has been a good blessing for me. They have sing-alongs, movie nights, word puzzle of the day, cooking crew, and the March calendar has stuff going on daily. Her room is very clean, the food is very good, they prepare the meals, everything is always fresh when we order it. They have a movie room, a theater room, an activity area, there's a large kitchen in the activity area where they could cook together, there's a salon, a courtyard all enclosed, reading areas, a pub, and a medium room where they can have religious services for gatherings.
