My dad was at Landmark of Bardstown for 20 days. All the staff from when you enter the front door to the ladies who bring in the meals, were very kind and compassionate. His therapy was wonderful. They prepared him to be able to be mobile on the different terrain that he has at his home. Instead of just going to the gym every day, they would go outside and walk in like a rocky area because his driveway has rocks. I was just very happy with the total staff. The nursing home was very clean. There were lots of activities. I noticed that some of the senior residents had crafts and door decorations, and they tried to make it as homey feeling as they can. I would give it a 5. If he ever had to go back, I would go that route. I can't be any happier. When my dad left, all the staff got in line and cheered for him. They have a beauty/barber salon, they have church activities, they have bingo, they have crafting, and of course, they have the different therapies that come in. They have a separate gymnasium with different types of equipment. He was only there for 20 days, and he didn't participate in any of the bingo or the social activities that they had. Every patient's room had a calendar for the month, and they had whatever activity going on for that day listed on the calendar.

We placed my mom in the Landmark of Bardstown yesterday. It's a nice nursing care community. My father was there too when he got sick, so she's in the same place he was in. They have activities, nursing on board, rehabilitation, and 3 meals a day plus snacks. So far, the staff has been pretty accommodating. They moved her to another room, they already had one room readily available for her, but they decided they wanted to move her to another room that was closer to the nurse's desk so they could keep a better eye on her. They moved her closer to where they could monitor her. The facility is very clean. They have built on the facility and remodeled it since my father was there. I saw their activity calendar while I was moving my mom in yesterday, and they've got activities and therapy planned every day.

My experience with the facility was a positive one. During the meeting with the staff, it was apparent they were very hands on with my client. They were extremely involved in his care and well-being. The facility was clean for the most part. However; upon entering the consumers room, it smelled of urine. The room was dark and uninviting. Residents of the facility were spread out in a room sitting in wheelchairs. Although it is difficult for them to get around, it would have been nice to see them interacting with others more. Overall, the facility was serving its residence in a positive way.
