What I like best about Trustwell Living of Overland Park is that they are very attentive and look after their residents. They're really good. What I like least so far is that they've had a lot of changes in the administration in the three weeks that my mother has been there, but they kept running and taking care of the residents like nothing happened. It was just a little disconcerting being new and that there were some big changes, but change happens. I've tasted the food several times. The food is not home-cooked, but they're doing their best. I love the staff. It's clean. I have seen a lot of activities. They do pub quizzes and the residents seem to like that, even my mother goes out for that one. They play games almost every day. I see people out with the director. Her name is Linda and she's great. Absolutely wonderful. They get a lot and they pay a lot, but they're taking really good care of them so far.

The dining area at Trustwell Living of Overland Park was not gracious. The grounds were not well kept or inviting. The interior was dark and unpleasant. I noticed some small areas of disrepair. The staff is responsible for all of the things I just mentioned, so I felt like as a team, they were missing the mark. I was so put off by the overall look of it. The rooms were adequate.

On my tour of Trustwell Living of Overland Park I was very impressed with the representative that toured with me and showed me the room. She had great interest in our needs. I would go there in a minute because of her. The room seemed to be small. It's a smaller facility, but it seems a little strange on how you enter the facility.

Trustwell Living of Overland Park was all locked down, even the assisted living part was locked down. It was freshly painted and fresh new furniture, and just had a nice vibe about it. I had a great time there. The admissions director, whatever her title is, was excellent. She even texted me later and gave me her cell phone number if I had any more questions about anything. She listened well and was compassionate and resourceful. The tour was good. The exterior was fine, and the interior was nice, too. Everybody that I met was very friendly. They had a lot of long-term employees who had been there for years, and I appreciated that. They had their own nursing staff. They don't use contract CNAs from an agency.

I liked that Trustwell Living of Overland Park had outdoor spaces and it was clean. There wasn't anything that I saw that I didn't like. The staff was friendly and it looked like they had activities. The staff member answered all my questions and she showed me everywhere I wanted to see. They also had a spa room. I didn't try the food there. They told me I could, but we didn't have time. What they had was good, but it wasn't as much as other places. They had an outdoor space for gardening and for activities. They had activities going on while I was there, and there were quite a few people participating. It's near restaurants, shopping, pharmacies, and a walking trail.

We like Trustwell Living of Overland Park the best mainly because it was a smaller facility, and it was built in an H shape. The dining areas and other areas were in the center, and you walk out of your room and then there was the elevator, so it was not so much of a walk from a person's room into the outside areas and the eating areas. For some reason, we like it better. The staff were very nice. They do assessments of the residents to make sure what level they would need to be, and a person's doctor would order assisted living. Nobody had ever said something like that. They have different therapies, they have podiatrists that come in, they work with a dental group, and they have beauticians that come in, but this is the only one that ever mentioned a podiatrist. We like the layout, and the rooms were nice, too. The location was convenient, which would be another thing. There weren't that many residents and it was a smaller facility.

It was pleasant. We only met one of the staff, but she was very nice and she toured us to a couple of rooms. The rooms were maybe slightly smaller, but they were still very pleasant. Their studios were good size. Although not as big, they were enough for one person. The bathroom was decent enough for an elderly person with difficulty getting around and the closet was also a good size. It was a very positive atmosphere. They had a common area where they had a big dining room and then two separate dining areas for family parties, although they said at that time, it wasn't open because of COVID. It was well decorated and smelled nice because they had a fall scent potpouri, and the residents seemed fairly happy.

My husband is here. The place is very nice. When you walk in, there is a very lovely lobby where you can look into the dining room and see people rolling around in their wheelchairs or walking. It is a nice vision when you go in. It is pleasant, and people seemed happy.

My father is happy with it. The people do their jobs. Overall the facility is much better than the other facility we visited. It’s a nice place to be. There isn't a smell, and the food is much better, which is a big deal for him. I think they are taking care of him pretty well, too.

My mother is here. It is a highly personal decision based on what her situation is and what we feel that these folks will be able to do. It has a lot to do with the people and the staff that we met and how we feel that their programs and their staff will work for my mom. She has only been there for about six weeks, and she seems to be happy there so far. She gained a little bit of weight, so I think she likes the food, and she has not had any subsequent falls, which is why we moved her from the independent living. They are keeping much better track of her medically. She is also diabetic, and I think they are watching that. They are watching what she is eating. They make sure that her diet works for that, and they make sure that she gets the medication that she needs. She is in a point where she needs some assistance in living because of her memory issues, and I believe that these folks are doing a good job with it.

We chose this community. We are very satisfied. They have been so helpful in helping my father make the adjustment. The room is very spacious, and my father has a large, bright window that is just wonderful. It just has everything in the assisted living. My dad is a great eater, and he just loves their food. The kitchen supervisor came to see him, interviewed him, and asked him what he liked, and my dad thinks the food is wonderful. He was sick for a little bit. He had a wound injury from a fall when he moved in there, and when they were treating that, he just didn't feel like going to the dining room a couple of times, so they came down and said, "What would you like?" They brought him hot soup and made him feel better, so they are wonderful; it is a very personal service. Their social activities are very good. He is out for bingo and the other things that they have planned. Leaving your home is a difficult time, and it took him a little while, but the activity director is just like a pied piper and gets you involved in things, so he is active now.

My mother-in-law has been situated in assisted living here for two months now. The room seems big enough and pleasant. The dining room is just a dining room; there's nothing different, unique, or special. Most of the tables accommodate four people, and some of them accommodated a few more. As for activities, they seem to make an effort at this place to have entertainment or something everyday, e.g., bingo, somebody coming in to entertain them, and fixing popcorn for them to watch a movie on TV. Security seems to be fine.

Based on my visit, it appeared to me that the staff here enjoyed their work. The people working there were good at what they do. I noticed that they had a nice courtyard. They even had an activities director. They also had many small activities and small groups. Among of the things they had were spiritual activities, musicians, and entertainers who would come in.
