Or as big as taking a hot air balloon ride, flying above the clouds in an airplane or driving that tractor or crane one more time. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is living in Emery Place for two years now. They're really good there; we're happy with them. It's just a little far from where I live. We have decided to keep him there for now. He is happy there. The staff is really good. He has a 1-bedroom apartment. They have a choice of 1-bedroom or studio apartments, and then there's also a 2-bedroom for husband and wife. Besides dining, they have musical groups come in, although with COVID, those have been more outside, and not in large groups. They have physical fitness programs and field trips; just all kinds of different activities. I don't know if they have a physical fitness room but they have physical fitness classes. They have a music program in a separate room, and they have a beauty salon. The staff members are all very friendly. I have not eaten there a lot, but the times I have eaten here, food has been good. The place is easy to get around.

I visited this facility

Emery Place was a nice place. The dining area was nice and the rooms were large enough for 2 people, but everything was painted white including the hallways. My loved ones could easily get lost in there. The memory section was a locked unit and it was nice. The room we saw had a kitchenette, a living room, a small bathroom, and 1 bedroom. They allowed pets there, too.

Thank you for your review of Emery Place. We appreciate your feedback!

I visited this facility

Emery Place Assisted Living & Memory Care was beautiful, all brand new, and everybody was very nice. It was great. Sarah was really helpful and gave us tons of information. The day we toured the place they were having their big Thanksgiving meal, so the dining room was packed with people. She showed us a couple of different kinds of rooms. They weren't super large, but they looked nice.

Provider Response

We're so happy to hear that you found Emery Place to be so inviting and warm. Reading your comments was a pleasure and we hope you'll reach out to Emery Place for your family's needs in the future. Thank you for your time!

I visited this facility

I toured Emery Place, and it was a newer community. The place looked new, clean, and inviting. They have a large dining area, she showed me a couple of the rooms, and it was more compact than other facilities. The staff was very helpful. It was a bit expensive too, but that would have been my second choice.

Emery Place Assisted Living & Memory Care is a nice, new place that's about two years old. The staff is very nice. The location is very convenient, and the grounds are all very nice. They have games, exercises, and shopping.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Very disappointed in the treatment of my M-I-L at Emery Place. She was one of the 1st residents to move into Emery when it opened 2 years ago. Emery Place made an independent assessment of her a few weeks ago and decided she needed to be moved to their new locked facility because she burned a brownie in her microwave and "failed" an assessment they gave her. The nurse at Emery Place appears to make all the decisions and is not open to any other opinions (including family). She gave us the choice of moving to the locked ward or moving out. So...we are moving my M-I-L into a facility that respects her independence and fulfils their commitment to increase the level of care as needs increase instead of warehousing our loved ones in a locked (and understaffed) facility. Do not heed their promises of being able to increase the level of care your family member needs as they age. What they mean is that they will require them to move to the more expensive locked ward in order to remain at Emery. My M-I-L has been "assessed" at several other facilities that we are looking at to move her to, and has passed all their assessments. I'm confident the reason Emery Place required her to move was that they have a waiting list for her type of apartment, and they thought they could fill their empty rooms in the locked ward with residents who currently occupy the coveted rooms. Our story is not unique...in the last 30 days this has happened to 3 residents. Unfortunately, they didn't have the family resources to advocate for them. Beware...

Provider Response

Terri, Your feedback about your family's experience at Emery Place is appreciated and taken very seriously. I invite you to reach out to Emery Place's management company, Senior Housing Management, to discuss your concerns further. It is always our goal to provide the very best care and highest level of freedom for every resident, while keeping them safe in their own apartment as well. It is certainly not our intention to make anyone feel the way you have described and we hope that you'll give us an opportunity to discuss the situation further. Your reply would be appreciated at 800-366-6716. Thank you very much.

I visited this facility

Emery Place was amazing. We loved the atmosphere and how they set it up, like in the villages. They had areas set up that we thought would really trigger memories and stories for our mom. The price was competitive. The dining area is very nice, set up like an open-air cafe; it was beautiful. We all walked away from this facility thinking that it is the perfect place for our mother. The gentleman who gave us the tour engaged with the residents. One lady even walked with us almost the entire time, and it was obvious this gentleman knows a lot about her. There was a very caring and compassionate feeling to the whole place. They really want it to be a quality place for their residents. They have crafts for activities. They set up places and things that would trigger old memories and stories for their residents.

Provider Response

Cynthia, Thank you so much for taking time to share your kind words about your experience at Emery Place! We are thrilled to know that you had such a positive visit and were able to truly interact with our residents and team members. We would be honored to have your mother as a resident and Emery Place Family Member.

I visited this facility

Emery Place is pretty new. I went to the rooms and the common areas. She did show me activities and what they do each week. We’ve gone to an ice cream place, and they go on for shopping activities. They have some kind of charitable fundraiser there that they could enroll in if they chose to be. They had a nice, big, outdoor space to walk and just to be outside. They had people that would garden, because they enjoy gardening. They had all-valet parking for their vehicles. They could be parked in a garage, and when they wanted to go somewhere they would bring it to them, which was really nice.

Provider Response

Delores, Thank you for your feedback regarding your tour of Emery Place. We appreciate your willingness to share what you liked about our community. Please feel free to return whenever you like to partake in any of our activities and events. We would love to have you!
