The dining area at Lutheran Senior Living was nice, but I wasn't quite as impressed with the rooms. The staff were nice enough, but I had a little bit of a hard time getting them to call me back. Also, there was a light that went off and nobody seemed to be making any attempts to go see what was wrong. Everything looked a lot more like a hospital than an apartment. It was clean, but it just didn't feel warm and homey.

We visited Lutheran Living a week ago. They have always been very kind and very attentive. With the situation now, they are just very aware and very good at trying to take care of everything as well as they can. The staff was good; they are very nice. My grandmother has tried their food and she didn't like it. I have seen the assisted living part, the transitional care, and the special care unit. The rooms were very nice: they are newer, and they are very clean. I like the fact that they are newer and that the place has a good feel to it. Even though it's not your preferred place to have a loved one, it's a nice place to have overall. Everything is limited right now, but before they had a little café where they could go to eat or meet family members. They also had activities and a hairstylist.

Lutheran Living really encouraged the clients to get out of bed and get out of their rooms. They have several sitting areas, and the rooms were big and clean. The staff was wonderful. My dad was there for skilled nursing for a bit, and they were awesome and were very knowledgeable. In terms of letting me know what’s going on, they were right on. They had to change my dad’s medicine, and they always called me before they give anything to let me know what was going on. I think they need to clean the rooms a little more often -- not that it was dirty or anything by any means -- but sometimes they have to go in and pick up trash and stuff off my dad’s floor. The staff was great. I think they need to work on trying to get the clients out to do more activities. They have more activities not just in the evening but throughout the day, and they really tried to encouraged them.

I enjoyed visiting this facility. Things seemed a little outdated, very 70's colors. All of the residents seemed pleased, and my great aunt said that they had a lot of activities and things to keep them occupied. We stayed for dinner, it was Christmas, and they let us eat there with her. The dining room was nice and spacious. They had plenty of helpers around to help the elderly that had difficult feeding themselves. The food was very good, as well. The staff was all very nice, seemed very competent. All in all, it was a very nice experience, and my great Aunt seemed very satisfied with the facilities, staff and activities. All of the other residents seemed happy as well. A lot of the residents were able just to wander and meander around, talk to folks, they seemed to enjoy that a lot. I would visit again.
