I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister was in a nursing home, Stonehill Care Center. We were over there every day. My sister was a very picky eater, and so they would make her the food she liked. Everybody on the staff was always very friendly. The facility was very nice and always very clean. The care and services were excellent. The staff there were caring. They really did their best, because I know that they weren't always fully staffed. My sister had to go to dialysis, so we didn't really use their activities at all. My sister's insurance pretty much covered it all. There was a beauty shop there, but my sister never used it. They also had a chaplain service and that was good. They had mass there once a week. My sister would go to their outside area all the time. There was a garden patio with chickens, and you could bring your dog up to visit. My sister had a dog, and her friend would bring her dog up.

We chose Stonehill Care Center for my mother because it meets her level of care. She's in long-term care. I couldn't go inside the building due to Covid. She's received good care, and she seems quite happy there. She's quite happy with her main caregivers, and she's happy with the food. They have transportation. They have at least three levels of care and a rehab center. She's finished rehab. She says it's very clean.

They have excellent care at Stonehill. I thought it was great. They had a wonderful facility for rehab and a great team of physical therapists and occupational therapists.

I visited this facility

We have heard strong recommendation about the skilled therapy department of Stonehill Care Center, and getting people back home. That is the main deciding factor. The staff is excellent. They are very loving, giving, and they take good care of the residents. They keep the family well informed. The dining set-up, and the food are wonderful. There is a lot of option for the residents. They do not have to just take the main course if they are interested in something else. They make them a hot meal. It is wonderful.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband wasn't treated right at Stonehill Care Center. He was treated very badly by an aide. The rooms were very small, and my husband had to have a bathroom with somebody else, which was very unhandy. Their food didn't look very good. They had activities as far as music, but one time my husband went down for some music, there were only four people there, and two of them were asleep. Some of the aides were nasty, and I think they took advantage of the fact that the people were either Alzheimer's patients or dementia patients.

I visited this facility

Stonehill Care Center is an excellent nursing home! It is clean and cheerful, as opposed to some other nursing facilities I have visited. The staff are pleasant and engaging towards visitors. When I went to visit a resident at Stonehill, there was quite a bit of new construction going on in the facility, but it was well-managed so as to not be distracting. The residents with whom I interacted seemed to feel as though they lived in a vibrant and caring atmosphere. When I went to Stonehill with my children in order to perform music for the residents' enjoyment, all of the staff and residents who turned out were a delight! They truly appreciated our presence there and even asked for an encore performance! When the music was all done, the children and I spent quite a while chatting with residents. We enjoyed them as much as they seemed to enjoy us. A friendly and nurturing community like Stonehill not only cares for senior citizens, but also provides a golden opportunity for younger generations to come in and learn from their years of life experience. I try to always teach my young children to respect their elders, and Stonehill allows me to bring my kids face to face with those same elders. When the day comes that I have to choose a nursing home for my parents--or be placed in one myself--I definitely hope that it will be someplace with standards as high as those at Stonehill Care Center.

Staff seems very nice, very helpful. It is a laid back facility. I can visit pretty much whenever, join my grandpa for physical therapy. It does seem a little lax on some things. He only gets a shower twice a week. The hygiene isn't great. It's a catholic facility which is good for him. The other residents seem kind of crappy. not a lot of socialization which would be good for him. But otherwsie they take very good care. The food is ok. A lot of meat. But they serve you which is nice. Also theres a lot of wood tables and decent decor. It does not look institutional at all which is very nice. Very helpful psychologically.
