My aunt was a resident of Prairie Hills at Cedar Rapids, and it's an awesome place. My father was also there, and then he passed away several years ago. They're very family-oriented, and if you have an issue, they deal with it right away. Her comment when she lived there was that it felt more like home. It didn't feel like she was in a facility. They have activities every day during the week, and the ones on the weekends are more client-run. They have a lot of social activities, probably 5 or 6 throughout the year, where families are invited to come in and join in the whole party thing. My interaction with the staff was very good. Whenever I visit and eat with my aunt, the food is good. The facility was very nice, clean, and homey.

Prairie Hills Cedar Rapids seemed very homey, the inside was done very wisely, and the rooms were nice. It's just that they have nothing on the first floor, but the layout was good. I only talked with the lady that took me around, she's like the director and she's been nice. On their activity calendar, they had a lot of things. They had kind of a courtyard that was not fenced-in, in terms of when you have a pet.

It was OK; it was clean and nice. The staff was nice and friendly, and the food was good. The people that I saw seemed happy.
