My mother is at RidgeView Assisted Living, and it's very good. The residents and the workers are very nice. They've been very helpful so far. She has a one-bedroom apartment, and it has a kitchen, a living room, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom. They also have two-bedroom apartments. They have some exercise classes, singers come in, there's a salon, a lounge area that has a TV and books, and a family room. She's been very happy with the food. It's pretty easy to get around the facility; it has straight hallways. They allow pets, and she has her cat there.

My parents are in Rosebush Gardens Assisted Living and they are very happy there. Even though my dad is resistant, he really likes it there. I think the staff is very caring, very friendly and everything has been just great. Actually, the reason why we choose Rosebush is because the apartments are larger than the other two we visited, and they are kept very clean and are in very good condition. I have one meal there, but my dad never misses the meal. He likes the cooking and he is gaining weight actually.

Rosebush Gardens was right next to another facility we visited. It was really nice but it was dark. It didn't have all the sun and windows that the other facility has. It was kind of darkly lit. It also didn't have that cheerful atmosphere. When we walked in, we didn't find anyone who worked there for like probably 10 minutes. We had to look for somebody. That was another issue I had with it.

I liked some of the aspects of my grandfather's assisted living facility. Some of the aspects that I enjoyed was the friendly living environment. There were many people living at Rose Bush and the staff at the facility provided many games and activities for the residents. I also enjoyed that he was able to go outside and see the birds or when he had visitors go to the gazebo that they had on the property. I did however see some things that I did not like when he was living there. I did not like that the room he was in felt like a prison cell. It was very small and my grandfather was 6 foot 7 so it was really small when we put in his big bed. He also had to have a lift chair in his room because he had a lot of problems getting up on his own. With the lift chair and the bed in the room there was no room for people to bring in their own chairs and be able to sit with him. The other problem that I had was that the facility had a bad smell to it and a lot of times it did not seem very clean.
