I was so happy that they have long-term private Medicaid suites a no additional cost. My mom loves that she could take her own furniture with her.

In most nursing homes you'll find the freedom to create the lifestyle you've always wanted. Each morning you'll awake to a colorful palette of possibilities from which to paint your day. Enjoy the quiet, muted tones of solitude in your spacious apartment, knowing friends and an attentive staff are close by. You'll always have a wealth of things to do right at your fingertips keeping you as active as you want to be. Oak ridge presents a staff of experienced, detail-oriented professionals at your service. They are always respectful and gentle with the patients. I never saw one patient in the halls not smiling. They work hard and so do the patients. But I must add that it's always sad when you get attached to someone and they pass on. That was always the toughest thing for me and the only reason im not a doctor/nurse.

The Golden Living Center is not the worst nursing home I've been in, nor is it the best. The staff, especially the nurses are caring and compassionate. They always take time to talk to me about my grandpa's condition and seem to genuinely care about their patients. My complaints regarding this facility are that the rooms are a bit small and many patients have to share a room, and that the place always smells of urine and feces. I absolutely hate the smell of this place. I'm not sure what can be done about this, if anything at all but that is my biggest complaint. However, overall this facility seems to be a nice place for people to go to get the care they need.
