Forest Park Health Campus is wonderful. I couldn't be happier. The staff members all go above and beyond. They're kind and loving. They're just super. My mother feels as if she is at home. Their food is wonderful. I have eaten with her several times. They give them plenty of time to eat. They're well-balanced meals. There are lots of their favorite things in their age group. There are lots of choices too. I can't say enough about it. Today they took a trip to Walmart to go shopping. Every day they have something musical with someone playing the piano, or singing, or there's a sing-a-long. They do lots of group exercising, they have movie nights once a week, they have wonderful church services, they play cards, and games, they do crafts, and there's cooking twice a week. Going to Forest Park Health Campus with my mother has made a big decision much easier. She is so much healthier and able to get up and do things that she wasn't able to do before.

Forest Park Health Campus was nice. If you needed to go into another level of care, they have it. I just thought their carpets were not as clean as the other places we saw. They showed us from the most expensive to the least expensive apartment and they were all very nice. They all had a little kitchenette and a really nice bathroom and shower. We saw some stains on the carpets that were not cleaned thoroughly and I thought the place was a little dark. The staff was lovely, they gave us cookies and they were delicious. They had a very nice private dining room if you wanted to have a family gathering, complete with tables, chairs, and silverware.

Forest Park Health Campus was very nice and clean. The lady was very helpful and informative. She invited us to come and eat lunch with them and showed us the room. The food and the menus that they gave out were very good. The problem was that they did not take Medicaid. They keep them very busy, which is good. If Mom needed help, they said that they would have plenty of people working who could assist her.

We found Forest Park to be a very friendly place that was eager to please and make residents comfortable. Grandma grew up in Richmond, so she’s meeting people that she can relate to. We think it’s going to be a good fit. They have cleaning people, people to do laundry, health staff, and nurses. There’s a nice entryway with a comfortable fireplace, two dining rooms, two outdoor garden areas, and two nurses' stations. It’s really nice. You can have a furnished apartment, but if you have your own furniture or waiting to get furniture, you can just move it out. When she needs a hospital bed, it’s already there and paid for. There actually was some miscommunication, and they weren’t ready for Grandma, but they jumped to it and got her a room. Her stuff is stored for now until she can get a bigger room. They are very accommodating,

My mother, 91, was admitted with specific instruction from the Dr. on how to care for the Philadelphia cervical collar neck brace and they did not have anyone there with the skill to maintain it. The collar was not kept tight and she ultimately required neck surgery for her broken neck. When she was taken to surgery, the surgeon discovered that the condition of her skin under the brace was so bad that surgery had to be postponed to prevent infection. This lengthened her stay in the hospital and required additional out of pocket expenses. They did not provide pain medication on schedule and at least twice that I can document they were not sure what medication was given to her or when. On several occasions they came into the bathroom while she was on the toilet to give her medications that could have waited until she was in a more dignified position. While they may meet the required patient/staff ratio, they did not provide the quality of care one would expect for a person who cannot care for themselves. Having said that, the PT department was very good. They did help improve her overall strength. It is pretty and they do put on a good show. The main and common rooms are comfortable and inviting, but look "carefully" at the activities in the individual rooms, in the hallway, and at the nursing station when you go there and decide for yourself.
