I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad was at Lincoln Hills of New Albany. We thought he got really good care while he was in there. The facility was a little older, but it had been remodeled. It wasn't the nicest facility in the area, but it was decent, and we felt the care was really good. The only thing he didn't like about it was he thought the food was horrible. We took him in some food, and. He wasn't eating much anyway, but he said the food was not very good. The room was nice. It was a good size. It wasn't fancy, but my dad never complained about it. It was a private room, and it had a bathroom. It was adequate. It wasn't beautiful by any stretch of the imagination, but it was good. The only amenity we saw was the dining room area, and it was good. It was nice and kept clean. Everything was kept very clean, but we never used that dining room or anything like that because we never got out of the room except to go to rehab. The staff members were very friendly. We were in there a lot. I was in there every day, and my sister and brother were in there quite a bit. Everybody was very friendly and seemed to be concerned about him and everything.

Provider Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. While we are grateful that you had mostly positive experiences while your dad was with us, we are genuinely sorry that the food fell short of your expectations. We strive for excellence in all areas, and we appreciate your feedback as it assists us to make improvements in our processes. Thank you.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was not fed or given wanted her first night staying in Lincoln HIlls. Being discharged from the hospital, my mother needed care and the plan was to rehab and move back home. Instead this facility gave her drugs that put her to sleep almost continuously for 4 days. When we questioned it, the staff stated she was only there for comfort. We asked to send her to the hospital immediately and the staff said only the Doctor could admit her, which we found out wasn't true. Two days late the house Doctor admitted her and my mother was admitted into ICU within 24 hours and passed away 3 days later. There is no doubt my mother would still be here if it wasn't for the lack of care provided by the facility. No wonder their reviews online and from Medicare are below average. BEWARE!!

Provider Response

Your comments regarding your mother’s care are very important to us. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter with you in greater detail to get a better understanding of the situation. If you are willing to speak with us, please contact our Heartline.

I visited this facility

Neglectful. My mom just died two days ago and she was in Lincoln Hills for two weeks. Was about to go home and they let her vomit overnight and never checked in on her. The vomit was described as Coffee Ground Emesis or Coffee Ground Vomit. She was rushed to the hospital and they found that she had Eroded Esophagus and Gastritis. When I spoke to the representative from Lincoln Hills and told them they had left my mother to vomit and entire night and only checked on her in the morning when they discovered her vomiting, the person said, "Sorry about that." Yeah, DO NOT put your loved ones here. My mom was sent to a different facility for Hospice, and they took such great care of her. They treated her like a human being. Lincoln Hills is understaffed. My daughter walked in, waited for someone at the front desk, decided to just go to her grandmother's room, drop off water, and walked out of the building and no one knew. NEVER, EVER put your loved ones in this place.

I visited this facility

The facility is extremely clean, the employees are very polite and kind to their patients, they encourage the patients to be kind to each other. I was aware of these items while visiting one of their patients for several months. I can rate the staff and facilities but I never ate there but I also did not hear any complaints about the food.

Lincoln Hills of New Albany is terrible. The services are mediocre. Mom will put her nurse light on and it will be several minutes before they come in and do what she wants. She hates the food. They do not get to pick what they are going to eat. They just bring them whatever and a lot of times she doesn't like what she gets. She doesn't go to activities and they don't have enough staff members to take her outside, which she likes to do. They told us that they were going to improve the looks of the facility inside. It has wallpaper that's been there since 1974 and the floor is so uneven. When I walk on it, I feel like I'm going to fall. Nothing's attractive at all there.

This place was top notch until the new owners bought it January 2018. They have 1 nurse and 1 aid for 25 skilled people. If you want to see the short staff problems go into Lincoln Hills after the front office is gone after 5 not that the front office helps but they make it look better then what it is they will tell you anything to get more people.

When you walk into Lincoln Hills Health Center, you can tell it is a great facility. It smells so clean and fresh. It is kept very neat and tidy. I was so impressed with the building and the staff.

My mother was in assisted living but broke her leg & went here for rehab. Rehab and therapist program here is excellent. After rehab we decided to stay because she likes it so much. The staff is very friendly and attends to all her needs in a timely manner. Food is good and there are a lot of activities, games, celebrations, outings etc. Rooms are a good size. Juanita, a social worker is one of the hardest working, kind, respectful, thoughtful women that works here and helped take care of everything we need. I am very happy how well they take care of my mom and that she is happy here.

My mother is in a nursing home at Lincoln Hills. I have been going there for awhile and I know everyone. I also know that they give excellent care. Overall, they're just very good, very loving and very caring. Their rooms are small but very nice.

The facility is average, somewhat dull looking. Most hourly staff seem o.k. Administrator Julie is a mean spirited gal, receptionist not very friendly. A lady anwsering phones (heard her say her name was Beth) down right COLD. Not a good impression with any of there fron office staff people. care is hit and miss. Stay away from this place.

The staff were ok. They didn't come in enough to check if she needed anything and when I went to the nurses station, there was no one in sight. The food was good and you can obtain a meal ticket and eat lunch with any patron. The people living here are pretty cool. Most of the are mobile and like to come and talk to you. There were some training CNAs and they seemed very nice to the residents here.

My Grandmother is in lincoln Hills currently we are moving her in two days. She has only been there a few weeks. She suddenly had a bruise on her collar bone.No one knows what happened. She has fallen clothing covered in feces thrown in bottom of closet.Filthy toliets. The nurses do their job but they dont have enough. They have a bunch of under trained CNAs .If you ask a question all you hear is I am new here. The Therapy department is fine.I was taking my Grandmother out for dinner and the Director demanded I talked to her.I talked for a few mins but could tell nothing would be done. This place is not even worth visiting .I would give it ZERO stars stay away if you want good care for your loved one!
