My father is at Independence Village of Greenwood. We chose this place because we really like the memory care program they have set out there. We like how they tried to get the residents engaged more because he definitely needed that. We just liked the entire facility. It's clean, nice, and well taken care of. The staff seem very involved and that's what we were looking for for him. He has a nice-sized apartment. I like their bathroom setup. It's set up nicely in the apartment. It's easy to get to and there's enough room for a shower chair and everything else. I really like it. I also like the fact that his apartment happens to be on the main path to all the activities, the dining room, and the outdoor space. So, it's easier for him to get around.

Independence Village of Greenwood was a wonderful community. The tour I had there went well. The lady was very, very nice and very informative. The only thing is we were misled by someone that they were a Medicaid waiver-accepting facility. She took the tour first, and then we went to the conference room to talk about it and that's when we discovered that we were misled. So, the tour ended at that point, but the facility was great. It's a wonderful place if you can afford it. It's kind of expensive. The building was very nice and very appealing. They had very nice sitting rooms and some patios outside that were nice and a sunroom, I believe, on one floor. They have bingo and activities, too.

I'm not happy about the way I was mislead about the care provided. I was not told that if my father needed nursing care, we would need to get an outside company. I asked if he could get hospice care there, they said yes, didn't explain I would have to get an outside company for that. They took money out of my bank account without informing me, and sent my account into overdraft. Trying to get help for anything there is very difficult. The extra charges they charged me, they only want to give me a credit, not return it. Maybe the assisted care side is better, but not the memory care.

My parents needed a home that could care for them in their aging years, provide medical assistance, and above all be comfortable and enjoyable. We have found all of this and more here at Independence Village of Greenwood. The staff is unbelievable! From day one they have been outstanding and ready to meet every need my parents have. The rooms are fantastic and the food is amazing! We were all concerned making this step but everyone here made this as seamless as possible and welcomed my parents and their dog into their family. I highly recommend it here and as a child of parents needing this type of care, I feel more than relaxed and relieved to find exactly what we needed at Independence Village of Greenwood. I highly recommend!

My mother loves living here. Her room is very comfortable and she was able to decorate it just like her home was. She enjoys the interaction with the other residents and the staff is very friendly and supportive of her needs. She also enjoys the activities that they provide.

My mother is in Independence Village of Greenwood. The care there seems to be very good. They're always willing to help do anything that you ask them to do. My dad was in memory care and my mom is in assisted living. They would wheel her down every day to see him and then they would take her back. On both units, the care was wonderful. They were very sensitive to my needs when my father passed and they called to tell me. My mother likes the brightly lit hallways. That's one of the things that she chose over one of the other places, that it's a very bright place and she likes the food that they have there. She seems to be very happy there. The staff is great. They have a very large dining area. There's more than enough room between the tables to move the wheelchairs. There have a variety of menus every day. If you don't want to eat what they have on the menu, you can order other things. They have a lot of activities. They have bingo and music, and they do exercises made specifically for the residents. They've got a nice TV room, and they've got a nice open area that you can go out to when you have company come and visit. We've talked about moving my mom since my dad passed, and I'm so far away, but she says she likes it there. She'd rather just stay there.

My mom was a resident of Independence Village. Her apartment was lovely and became her home. The staff was outstanding...attentive, kind, professional, friendly and pleasant. Some of Mom's most appreciated activities were Bingo, book discussions and worship services. There were special programs which included family, such as holiday gatherings and the fall festival. Mom also enjoyed an informal card group with friends during the pre-Covid time. Mom always said how much she enjoyed living at Independence Village and she had high praise for the staff. The Independence Village community was very welcoming of Mom's family, too.

My mom was in assisted living and continued to decline and Independent staff was wonderful in getting her transitioned into the memory care unit. They are very supportive!

My mom has been in Independence Village of Greenwood. They've been wonderful. They've all been very compassionate, and they've treated Mom very well. I have no complaints. I have not eaten there. Mom has said it's not the best food, but I think she's just upset about being there and is not happy about the whole situation. She wants to come home. But I would say the food is adequate. The facility is very clean. It feels like an apartment complex. That's the highest rating I can give it; it does not feel like a nursing home or an assisted living care facility. When you walk in and go down the halls, it feels like an apartment complex. The amenities have been very good. They have a movie theater, they have a library, they have a workout room, and they have a hair salon. They have like a restaurant-style eating. I've been very impressed with the amenities. I would also say the activities are good.

I’ve lived here almost a week, and I really enjoy it here. The service is great, and I love to meet new people and make new friends. You can be as independent as you’d like, or you can ask for help and receive that help quickly. They have made this home for me and the transition was way smoother than I could have ever imagined. I wish I made the move to Independence Village of Greenwood sooner!

It was clean and comfortable. The staff during the tour seemed qualified and experienced. The room was up-to-date and comfortable. While we were there, they were having a Mardi Gras party and they had several outings and activities both for men and women. Since my brother is a guy, we were hoping that there would be some activities for men and it seemed like there was. The dining area had pleasant surroundings, but I've not been there during a meal yet.
