Conveniently located in downtown Oakland, it is near shops, banks, theaters, Lake Merritt, the Oakland Museum, the library and public transportation. St. Andrew’s Manor is a six-story, 60-unit development for seniors 62 and older in the City of Oakland. The project has been owned and operated by SAHA since 1972. The property’s rehabilitation will include unit rehabs, accessibility upgrades, a new second elevator and upgrades to the existing elevator. The property will also incorporate many new eco-friendly features into the building design. This rehabilitation ensures low-income elderly residents a more comfortable home while preserving the depth of affordability that St. Andrew’s provides its residents.

Wesley Manor is a 156-unit high-rise building located in Campbell, California with one-bedroom and modified one-bedroom units for persons with disabilities. Minutes from shopping, restaurants, senior center activities, libraries, and transportation services, Wesley Manor residents have a host of convenient services nearby. There is a drug store across the street and historic downtown Campbell is just minutes away.

Valley Vista is an urban oasis in the heart of San Ramon, offering low-income seniors 62 and older convenient access to shops, pharmacies, restaurants and more less than a mile away.

Through a partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Housing and the San Francisco Housing Authority, as well as the instrumental support of neighboring public housing tenants, Chinatown CDC was able to construct this building on the surface parking lot at the North Ping Yuen, a SF Housing Authority public housing project. The building was designed specifically for independent living by elderly and disabled persons, families who qualify for rental assistance as “Very Low Income Families” under HUD’s Section 8 program. The building consists of a single story parking garage with 3 stories of housing above it. Its community room is also well utilized by the community.

Opened in 1981, Crane Place is a 93 unit complex for extremely low to moderate income adults ages 62 or older and persons with mobility impairments. There are 69 studio apartments and 24 one bedroom apartments. Ten are barrier free apartments for persons with mobility impairments needing the accessibility features of the unit. Crane Place is a non smoking facility. Residents of this site receive significant financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 program. The site is committed to this program until 2028. Applicants must meet HUD’s eligibility criteria to become residents. Crane Place has a community/recreation room, library, gift shop, and dining room. There is a laundry room equipped with coin operated machines. Limited parking is available. In order to assist residents to “age in place”, Crane Place offers the services of Social Service Coordinator who works on site on weekdays. Corinthian House is a 501(c)3, non-profit, affordable residence owned by Corinthian House, Inc. a non-profit corporation organized by Christian Scientists. Corinthian House provides a residence that enhances the dignity, usefulness and security of persons at least 62 years of age and older, who wish an independent life style. Corinthian House also has ten architecturally altered wheel chair accessible apartments. A senior residence for those who are able to fulfil lease requirements by one’s self or with help they arrange for privately, Corinthian House offers a cordial atmosphere where seniors (over 62 years of age) can find friendship and activity in the San Francisco Bay area. Here, seniors have fellowship while remaining active. Some of the many optional activities in which our residents can participate include singing, a bible study, bingo, local theater, canasta, and bookmobile visits. They can enjoy a coffee hour with the residents, crafts, reading, jigsaw puzzles, computer games and Internet access, get personal attention at our on-premises beauty shop, or just relax in our gardens.
