My father was placed in this facility for rehabilitation. There was no rehab. I had to tell them to get him out of bed. When you talk to the staff they sound as if you are putting them out. That is if they understand you. Many of the staff have a hard time as they speak English as a second language. He had to go back to the hospital with pneumonia that he got while in Rolling Hills. The hospital noted terrible bed sores due to him lying in the same position over days. The hospital had removed his dentures and wrapped them up in his clothing when he went back to Rolling Hills. This facility lost his dentures. They said they looked but could not find them. My father has since passed away. They never did find his teeth. He was buried without them.

Rolling Hills Manor is short staffed. Some of the workers are far better than others. The facility has an odor. They don't seem to spray for the odor. You have to constantly be on top of your relative's possessions or they disappear. Don't leave anything nice there or it won't be found. They do not accommodate patients that are on the same medical level as roommates. They put dementia people with people who do not have dementia and it can cause problems.

I went to this facility twice for knee replacement rehab and recovery. The first time was ok. Caring staff. The second time I went the care was seriously less. When I arrived my husband and I sat in the room 2 hours before anyone came to help me settle in. I had to go to the washroom in the middle of the night and the staff person couldn't even figure out how to help me to the john; plus he didn't know how to put on the elevated seat on the toilet for those who cannot use a lower seat. Bed is supposed to be changed once a week; I had to tell them after 9 days that my bed hadn't been changed. New staff seems poorly trained; I was told they don't even train their night staff as well as they do their daytime staff. Dining room has some patients asleep with their face in their food. Food is terrible. I would NEVER recommend Rolling Hills to anyone the way it is now. Also they should not have mentally ill patients on the same floor as those who are rehabbing. I had this elderly man coming into the room constantly and when I would ask him to leave he would get argumentative, once even threatening my husband who happened to be there at one of his "visits." Had to call nursing staff to get him out of the room and then he would use foul language. He kept constantly opening the door to another part of the floor which rang a loud alarm that woke me when I tried to rest. He should have not been on that floor at all in my opinion. Four patients to one bathroom; not good. Never again.

Rolling Hills Manor is a medical nursing care facility that is attached to the Rolling Hills Place. It looked really good. It looked like they had enough staff. They were having some group activities during my visit. The staff to resident ratio looked adequate. It smelled good, and it looked clean.

Rolling Hills is very nice, but their rooms are a bit small, and they don’t have a room with a double bathroom. The staff is excellent. The dining rooms are several clusters at the end of the hallways. They have it all, from independent living to skilled nursing.

If you want your loved one to sit in pee and poo and have sores, this is your place. They don't have enough caring staff members.

My uncle is at Rolling Hills Manor and everything seems to be working out very well there. The facility is close by and they call me if they have concerns. They have been doing very well for my uncle. He was put in there last June and he is doing very well. The only thing we really have a situation with the facility is that my uncle has a scooter and he can't have it in the facility because it's too small, but with everything else I can't complain at all.
