The facility is quite dated. But after my mom was there a month I realized their focus was not updating and looking state of the art, but on the quality of care. It was obvious the staff really care for the patients. Yes there were times it took a bit when she needed something. But when 10 people need something someone is first and someone is last. Every time we had an issue that needed to be addressed they resolved it quickly. Administration department isn’t too on the ball. Quite disorganized. In her last 24 hours we stayed by her bedside, and were treated very well. Asked if we could have a private room and were accommodated. They brought us a small diner, tray of snacks later as well as coffee and water to help get us through the night. After she had passed the next morning, I can’t tell you how many of the staff came to pay their respects. A few even kissed her on the forhead with tears. They are a staff that I would want taking care of me.

My sister is currently in this facility. We are currently planning on finding her a different facility to get the care she needs. She has had horrible interactions with staff except for very few. Services such as PT/OT, dialysis, and psychiatrist are contracted out. My sister has went without meds, unanswered call light. She needs assistance with bed pan as she cannot walk and states she "holds it" because she can't get anyone to help her. She has called the main number to be transferred to the floor she is on so she can ask for assistance. She will be moved as soon as possible.

This place is old fashion they don’t check your vitals and make sure you good or anything the rooms you can smell the piss and they cover it up with fabulouso you don’t smell no bleach it’s a pandemic why is it three people to a room unless they all covid or been vaxxed or the people who aren’t vaxxed they put them in a separate room. I’m so ready to go home I don’t know what to do I would suggest this place and definitely don’t let the hospital put you in here either.

If your family member needs a diaper plan on 1 to 3 hour wait times for changing? my room is freezing in the winter to the point my hands are constantly numb. NO HEAT no knobs on heater to turn it on. I've been here 6 months in that time I've had 2 showers and 3 bed baths. if you order out for food or have a family member, bring in groceries they will sit in that reception area until they decide to bring them up!!!!!!!!!!!! This wrong so wrong. anyway, your loved one could literally die before anyone comes to help them,

My mom was at The Grove at the Lake, and the whole thing was bad there. It is old with old fashioned stuff. Water was coming out of the heater. The CNAs and the physical therapy were excellent there, though. The staff wasn't all bad, but the majority of them were. There might have been two or three that were good, but the rest were just full of it. They need to update the heaters and the bathroom. It's filthy in the place. It's just old, old stuff in there. Some of the nurses needed to be retrained. You can't visit unless you call to make sure that that person is cleaned up. If the person is not cleaned up until 11:00 or 12:00 in the afternoon, that means something is wrong with that facility. My mom never got wiped up until 12:00 or 1:00 in the afternoon. My mom tried to live in here, but it wasn't worth it. My mom said they had bedbugs, although I've never seen the bedbugs. They never changed the sheets unless someone came up there. The sheets could be on a bed for two or three days, and they change it. They don't give you water. The water cans stay there forever, and they never change the water. They'd be like doing a game puzzle or game something, but not in there.

The facility were terrible, old beds, food is terrible. The food taste like it came from a frozen grocery store. The pitcher of water don't get changed for a couple day. furnace wet my clothes. The visitor sign in and the down stairs lady call up to warn the nurse so the resident can be cleaned up. If its 11:00am the resident should be cleaned up. Physical Therapy are the best , they need to go work somewhere else to show their good work. The secretary at front desk roll her eyes and she nosey, The social worker only care about the money, they don't care about the residents needs. The facility need to up date or tear down.old furniture, heaters,,chairs. The nurse are very nice, the cna is excellent.. The social worker and front desk get rid of them

The Nursing staff can't even get your Meds to you on time. Understaffed, Incompetent, Broken heaters and beds held together by tape. Food is horrible, beyond bad. Due to Covid can't even get food to your room before it's Ice cold. Waited 13 and a half hours for a glass of ice in a room with a broken heater that was like a blast furnace. Physical therapy people are top notch and deserve high praise. But that's about the only thing that works about this place.

I already placed my father in Grove at the Lake. It’s very clean. It is in the area where my father is. They have 5 nurses for every shift. They are very attentive to their patients. They personalize and they call everybody by their first names to make them feel warm and welcome, so it is very good. He has only been there for about a week now, but everything so far is great.

This is a large facility in the farthest north reaches of Illinois, drawing staff from Wisconsin as well as Illinois. It is just off of the main road, in a generally safe area bordering the business district and the residential neighborhood. Long term care and short term rehab are provided, with most residents being long term. A number of residents have both medical and psychiatric diagnoses. Some attend day programs off-site. The staff is able to manage difficult medical conditions as well, based upon multiple available reports. There is a nice but small outdoor sitting area, and many residents who smoke are often outdoors. The interior common areas are small but typically clean and well maintained. As a large, busy facility, it is sometimes tough to find a quiet place outside the resident room to sit and visit. However, rooms are typically above average in size, so even in a shared room there is usually enough room to visit without feeling overly disruptive to the roommate. The building is older, so the rooms lack a warm and homelike feel and rather feel institutional for the most part. Housekeeping and maintenance are typically good though, so rooms do not appear dirty or in disrepair. Staffing is usually adequate in number to meet resident's needs with an average amount of staff turnover. The food is average and some meals do not seem appealing or tasty, but substitutes are offered if desired. Direct care staff as well as management most often demonstrate a sincere interest in resident well being and appear committed to providing compassionate care.
