My father-in-law was at Hearthstone. It was a good one. The place was older. It needed to be re-done, but it was still very clean. They did lots of activities. They will take the residents to any church they wanted. I would recommend them highly. Actually, I would go there. The service and the food are the top ones. They are also taking people to places. You would let them know one day in advance that you have a doctor's appointment and they would take you. The price is reasonable, too.

My grandmother loved her duplex and apartment there. But after she passed, the deposit for the duplex should have been refunded. She passed in March of 2023 and we still haven't heard anything. Beware!

It's a nursing home. Mom was clean though she did fall a few times. My issue is with their business practices. In the confusion after her death in May, I accidentally paid the last bill of $4,700 twice. It's October and I haven't seen a penny and they won't tell me when I can expect it. If I owed them that money, I would be in collections by now. I've called multiple times and nothing.

I like the staff at Hearthstone Village. The rooms were nice, had nice, big windows, and was decent sized. They had a nice and well-maintained eating area. There's a bus that they go on, and they take them places. They don't take the residents if they're not well enough to go. The care and food are quite good.

We've visited Hearthstone Communities, but it was way out of our price range. It was a very nice place and the size was very good. We enjoyed our tour at this place more than the others. The dining area was very nice and roomy, and everyone was cordial and nice to talk to. I saw that they have exercise equipment, but they dont have things like a pool. The rooms were very clean and lovely.

I was very disappointed with Hearthstone Communities. It felt institutional to me. I didn’t see any residents around. There was a long hallway of rooms without carpeting, so it felt like a hospital. The staff members I met were friendly. I only met with one person, although I spoke to the woman at the desk, who was very nice. They didn’t show me quite as much as other places did, like I don’t recall seeing a social room or dining room. I did not walk away interested in it at all.

I didn't like Hearthstone Communities at all. The parking was really bad. I parked out on the street, which was not easy. It was very dark and dingy. I did not get a warm and fuzzy, cozy feeling. It needs to be updated. The rooms seemed to be perfectly fine, but the TV room and the dining room did not thrill me. They had a library and internet.
Provider Response
I'm sorry that our facility didn't meet your needs. While we have a challenging parking problem being in the middle of a neighborhood, we do have a number of parking spaces reserved for visitors and future residents. Since you visited our community, we have upgraded our formal dining room with new carpeting, chairs, artwork and window treatments. We also created a new cafe available for resident and visitor dining and activities. Part of that new cafe area is a new library with computer and internet capability. We are continuing our remodeling program with a newly designed activity area, exercise facility and chapel. Please come back and see us again.

Hearthstone Manor is a very nice place that serves good food. My father-in-law is extremely tall, so they have all of the machines and everything to get him in and out of bed. So far, everything has been good. The staff is very nice, pleasant, and attentive. We don't have any problems with them. It is a home-like setup, and they make their patients very comfortable. They were gracious enough to allow my father-in-law to go out with us and have pizza the other day.

At Hearthstone, my mother has been getting very good care. The staff is friendly. It is clean. They have good meals. Overall, it is working out well. Regarding activities, I'm a little disappointed there. They play a lot of bingo, but I wish they would have more variety for her. We picked this place because it is close to my home, and I had a retired friend who was there. It is clean, and the staff is very attentive; those are two important things. As for the rooms, the room my mom is in is very nice. It is a private room with a private bath. It has nice carpeting, clean paint, and a sunny window.
