I liked the place, but it did not have availability. The staff was very helpful, the building was smaller, it only had 34 people, but it's well laid out. The rooms looked good, it looked neat and clean, and the pets were friendly. The have small areas, rooms where they can do some activities, and I saw them doing some music. They have enough upstairs area where people can go and sit.

It is on one level and they try to ensure that the people are in small rooms so they spend a lot of time outside. The facility is smaller, so their caregivers are consistent for a particular resident, they can expect to see the same people and get to know them. The dining area looked nice. The person who took us around was very knowledgeable.

Wilmette was a great community. However, it was memory care, which I didn't realize when I went there. It was not what my mother-in-law needed. The staff was very good and helpful. The rooms and apartments looked good and well maintained, too. Their dining room was all good. They had some activities like bus trips around the area. It was an excellent community.

It was a very nice facility and physically attractive. I am still assessing it for my sister and her particular needs, but as far as Sunrise was concerned, it was a lovely place. The staff seemed very attentive, and one thing that was positive from my point of view is they seem to have lot of supports. They have CNAs working one on one with the residents. I think they also have pets like a dog, which I kind of thought was a nice catch there. They have card games and supervised activities; that’s why I wasn’t sure if it was an appropriate set for my sister. What I saw was more of a memory care, dementia unit. They didn’t really have a lot of outings. They had some like to the museums simple because the residents that they are caring for are less mobile, and they didn’t seem to have that particular type of activity. Otherwise, it was very nice, and from what I saw, they seemed to be serving the needs of the residents.

Looked very comfortable and cozy. It has a small number of residents and a lot of staff. It was very home like. The residents were very pleasant to each other. I think they're comfortable. They handle dementia patients very well. They didn't have as many events going on. But I presume because first of all there's a small group of people and second because those people tend to be pretty sick. I can imagine liking it myself. But it wasn't big enough, didn't have enough people, and it wasn't exciting. They certainly have an emphasis on healthy food. But they didn't have a lot of pizzaz. That's not what most people are looking for, but that's what my friend was looking for.
