My brother-in-law will be moving into Heritage Woods of Watseka. We chose it primarily because of affordability. He can be on Medicaid and that is what we need. He will be in Supportive Living. It's sort of like assisted living, but not at the same level. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. There are restaurants nearby and a hospital not far away. There's a Wal-Mart as well.

Heritage Woods of Watseka was very nice. My husband would have his own place with a big bathroom and a big walk-in shower, but he needs assistance with everything. The first girl told me they had a memory care ward now, but when I talked to them again, they said basically, they are an assisted living, not a skilled nursing home that he needs. They did say they put in a hall with locks, so people who have memory problems don't come out. The girl said that the residents have to be able to take care of themselves. The apartment was nice. You have to take your own bed and a chair and a TV, but it does have cable hookup. People seemed very happy, and I've taken our grandchild there for Easter egg hunts. It's very beautiful inside and well taken care of. They have a big room that's called a family room where you can come and celebrate their birthday and have people there. The girls were always very nice and polite. Anything I asked them, they would help me with. I only went into one apartment and it was very nice. The area I was in was very clean.

I'm thinking to choose Heritage Woods of Watseka for my mom. It was very clean, the staff was great, and the rooms were nice and clean. I liked the rooms or apartments, they were good. The gathering areas for the people were very, very comfortable looking. I was there at meal time, and even though I didn't see the food, I saw the people going to their places in the dining room, and they looked happy. The places where they did things and the activities were very, very good. They have amenities like a beauty salon. I was there to see the assisted living and they showed me their memory care level too; I liked that as well. They gave us a full tour, they were very nice to my mother, and were walking slowly for her.
