Clark-Lindsey Village was fantastic. They were great. Every time I went to visit my mom, they were so nice and you didn't feel like it was a nursing home because they have assisted living. She was in the nursing home, but it felt more like home. It's a nice place. The rooms were in great condition and definitely well kept up, very clean, and attended to. You could tell nothing was left undone or not fixed. It was very nice. She's picky, and she liked the food. She thought that all the people there were very nice. She didn't do too much because she was just doing physical therapy a lot plus with COVID, there was a lockdown at one point. She was only there for three weeks. She didn't get to do a whole lot because of the COVID lockdown. This, fortunately, was covered under Medicare, but I thought it was good care for the money. She was in Meadowbrook. She had the skilled care for three weeks, and they were great. I recommend them highly. They were so nice and they treated my mom with such care. They were great.

We visited Clark-Lindsey Village and they don't have assisted now. They just have independent living and if you need skilled help, then they move you. There are two other buildings on site, but it's not part of what we looked at. That was a 5 all the way around. It was top of the line. They said they would have assisted living probably in about a year or a year and a half. They had everything, i.e., activity rooms, a swimming pool for water aerobics, outdoor space for walks, and a garden lot. I would move in there. It was so nice. I just don't think it would've been a fit for my relative because she needs assistance. You can work with their staff and they can help you find somebody to come in and help, but then you're not only paying to live there, but you're also paying for homecare, too, so that just didn't fit.

I found Clark-Lindsey Village, and as soon as they get through renovating my apartment, I will be moving in there. It has excellent facilities, a nice big gym, a heated swimming pool, and a nice large therapy area. I've talked to some of the residents that I know that live there, and they say they won't eat any place else because the food is fantastic. The apartment that I saw was excellent. It was a one-bedroom, very good-sized, and had a walk-in shower. All the apartments have walk-in showers. To me, it's the best out of the ones I've seen, and it's not as expensive. Everyone I met was very nice and very congenial. They make you feel welcome. They have transportation to wherever you want to go. My view out of my bedroom is going to be an open area, either out into a nice big courtyard, or out into a park area. There's park all the way around except for one side, and there's no apartment on the one side that is the parking lot. You can walk down from that place and catch the bus.

I have visited Clark-Lindsey Village. It's an excellent community. However, my mom is pretty well-off, and you'd have to turn over all of your assets to them. For a one-bedroom, you have to pay upfront about $120,000 and a two-bedroom is $140,000. If you leave, they sell it for you. They're very well-equipped, newly painted, and the flooring in them practically looked new and there was some carpet. The room had a dishwasher, large two-door refrigerator, large walk-in closet and everything was really nice. They even had a nice swimming pool, library, excellent dining and kitchen facility, and a lot of activities. We didn't like the fact that you'd have to turn over all your assets to them. We didn't eat there but we saw the preparation in the kitchen. They have three chefs and we're impressed with the point system they use on the meals. You're allowed to eat two meals a day. The monthly charge even after you pay the $120,000 is $3,800. We visited the senior living level, and they also had a nurse on duty for the extended care community.

I’ve heard good things about Clark Lindsey, but I was not impressed at all with them. I didn’t feel like the person that was doing the tour liked her job or wanted me there. It made a bad impression. I wasn’t very impressed. I felt like they didn't care whether or not my mom was there. She didn’t ask me any questions about my current situation; she just gave me a little tour. I waited a super long time for the appointment. I sat there forever to meet with her, but she didn’t even apologize. The room seemed clean and big.

Out of the facility I checked out so far: Clark Lindsey has been the most upbeat and pleasant.Everyone I met, residents and staff alike seem pretty happy and content. The grounds outside were bright, cheery and well maintained and much larger than I had expected. They have very nice apartments, very clean and spacious. The dining area was really nice and not at all what I expected. I was expecting regular looking hospital food but it actually looked very appetizing.I do not believe I came across one staff member that did not at least smile at me in passing. The hair stylist stands out to me the most. She was speaking to one of the elderly residents and it seemed as though the elderly resident was upset and confused about something, she kept repeating herself and the hair stylist was so patient and empathetic with the elderly lady. I plan to check out a couple more facilities in the week or so, but I really think I would be hard pressed to find a place I like better than Clark Lindsey.

My experience with the Clark-Lindsey homes is great! I hate nursing homes, but however the staff here is very sweet and understanding. My grandmother has no idea how to function on a daily basis anymore for the most part and the staff here make it easy for her to get around and remember the small things that she should still try to remember. They take great care of her when me or my mother can't be around. I would rate this one of the best I have been to from my experience.

Clark Lindsay Village in Urbana, IL is a very lovely retirement community. The facility offers various options for living arrangments ranging from total independent living in apartments to convalescence/ nursing care in a separate part of the complex. The food is delicious and they employ a wonderful professional chef; the lawn and grounds are gorgeous with many seasonal flowers planted. There is a hair salon, and even a small general store for the residents. It is located in a safe community and adjacent to a park. Many residents are retired professionals from the local university, who are vibrant, interesting and active. The ONLY drawback to this facility is that it is rather expensive.
