We chose Addington Place of Sparta because it's closer to home, has affordability, and allows pets. It was clean, the open floor plan was very inviting, and it was safe. Their safety measures were very thorough but not the memory care patients would feel like prisoners. The whole layout was exactly what we needed. The safety yet the independence that they can have to move about freely and plenty of staff. The staff, every one of them, came up and introduced themselves. Explained their role and then sat down to individualize the care that my mother likes, wants, and needs because they said this is her home now and we want to please her. It was all focused, resident focused which is what we were looking for. I did not sample the food, but they cater to the patients or the residents' likes and dislikes. They can have as many snacks during the day and the meal times are individualized based on what the resident prefers. If they prefer early dining, or later dining, they will put meals in, and bring them to their suites or the common dining area. Everything is tailored to the resident.
