Rooms were very nice, I believe at certain times they were understaffed, but at other times they had plenty of people stopping in my room asking if I needed fresh water or something else. I was totally stressed out about being there and probably wasn't easy to get along with at times. Food was pretty good but I am on a low carb high protein diet so I did cheat on my diet..physical therapy was EXCELLENT and I looked forward to it every day!!

Rooms were clean , food was ok but some of nursing staff and desk staff were rude , non caring people! If I didn’t stay with my family member most of day and evening he never would have eaten because he needed help, nursing staff waited too long to get ambulance to get him to hospital when his oxygen fell out and he couldn’t find it and they didn’t answer call button ! His numbers were not recovering quick and she had us waiting to call ambulance! I told her call now or I’m calling and I want him to go to our hospital under drs orders ! Do not use this nursing home if you love your family member.

Alden is designed to look good on the brochure BUT the patient care is terrible. It is not unusual to wait an hour for a light to be answered. I was there two weeks and my room was cleaned once. I had to ask for it to be vacuumed and the toilet cleaned. The CNA’s are worked to the point that they can not give good care. They totally misrepresented themselves to the public. It may look good when you walk in but the patients do not have toilet paper.

Very disappointed with the quality of care from the staff. My mom couldn't walk and had to have staff to go to the bathroom. So many times she ended up wetting herself since staff took too long to respond. On top of the this, they did not have disposable wipes to clean her. They were out of wipes for over two weeks. I had to bring her wipes so she could be cleaned. This place is understaffed with too few CNAs. She was left on the toilet several times and had to wait a long time for assistance. Terrible way to treat anyone.

Multiple family members of mine have stayed in this facility and we have had amazing times each and every time. The staff is always friendly and helpful and they do everything they can to make you feel cared for. The food is great, the staff is professional, the place is always spotless. We will never go anywhere else.

This place was a lifesaver! My uncle had a great stay with Alden and we would never go any where else. The cna's are so helpful and are so friendly. The nurses are very educated. Management is professional and compassionate. We love this place! You can't let one or two bad reviews tarnish the name of such a great place that really cares about their patients.

My Mother was a rehab resident for about 3 weeks. I am so dissappointed with this facility. If this facility is one of the best, God help those that need care. On three occasions, I have had to call the facility because she was left on the toilet for 40-50 minutes. On at least three other occasions she didn't bother to wait for an attendant, she got herself into a wheel chair and got into bed. She is heavily medicated and unstable. If she is too tired to eat in the dining room, she gets a tray. Most of the time the food comes to her cold. My Mother has peed herself many times because her light is ignored for too long. They were supposed to order her bed, wheel chair and a vovering to acvommodate her pelvis pain while in bed, but again the ball was dropped. The nurses do not even acknowledge you when you go to their station to get information...unless the State is present, then they are more than helpful. The housekeeping staff is great and the physical therapy staff is great. The reason for my review is that it may help those that have no family or friends to speak for them...they need a voice as well.

I’m familiar with Alden Estates of Shorewood because I have gone there for rehabilitation. The facilities were nice and clean and everybody was so accommodating, including the physical therapy staff, the nurses, and the doctors. Food service was good. They had an excellent dining room and laundry service if you need it. It’s family orientated and you can have visitors. They always had something going on. They have memory care that I may need in the future.

I loved my stay there. I had to go for rehab for 2 weeks and it really made a huge difference. Everyone that worked there was so nice and went out of there way to help me. They prepare the food like your in a real fine dining restaurant, but better!! Even the lady that cleaned my room was very friendly.

My father-in-law was in Alden Estates for two months. The physical layout and physical therapy are very good, but the responsiveness of the nursing staff is not so good. When the patients ring the bell for somebody to come and service them, it takes a long time for someone to come.

The staff at Alden Estates really goes out of their way. Mom has an occupational therapist and a physical therapist who will make time to talk to family when they bring Mom back after therapy. I think that’s excellent that they make sure family knows what’s going on and how much progress is being made. The nursing staff has been very good. The CNAs have done their best to be very responsive and to answer us as quickly as possible. They are a little understaffed as sometimes you do have to wait a little bit, but that’s not the CNAs fault. They have two different settings: private rooms with a room and bathroom and no kitchen or living room, and semi-private rooms which are decorated prettier but feel more like a hospital room. The food was very good. They have religious services on Sundays, but I believe every morning you can go for a prayer service, plus bingo, games like Rummikub, crafts, and painting. They have therapy dogs that come in once a week if you want to spend some time petting a pet. I thought that was very nice.
