I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

HORRIBLE!!! My mom has been here 5 days. She fell 3 days ago out of bed and STILL has not had an xray promised daily. I asked how often they change them and was told every 2 hrs. After seeing my mom’s diaper fall apart when I changed her I asked the kid on shift how often they charge them and he said once a shift which is 8 hrs!!!! THE SMELL IS HORRIBLE because my poor mom and others are in the old building. Stay away

When they give the tour the new wing with the updates is for short stay residents. They tell you that they plan on updating the building but that is not the case. When you see the wing where the long-term residents stay it's like it's a different building. I asked about changing a bulb in the ceiling light and it took weeks before it was cared for. They are not equipped to care for patients that need full assistance or for patients with dementia. They don't care for the daily needs of the patients. They leave equipment in the room that doesn't belong to the patient. This place is really bad. There were a FEW good people there and I hope they moved on to find jobs at better facilities. This place should be a LAST resort for consideration. The rooms are not bright. Some of the staff act like you are bothering them when you have a request or question about your family member. You can NEVER reach the doctor. They communicate through the nurse that paged them. I definitely recommend continuing using the doctor you currently have. Arrangements can be made to transport your family member to and from the Dr. office if the doctor can't come to the facility. The amenities offered is a space where the family can visit and gather out of the room. (That tells you know how little amenities available.)

I visited this facility

My mom went to Villa as a rehab patient after spine surgery. The staff at night and on the weekends are horrible. Issues from giving my mom the wrong pain meds to leaving her in bed unable to get to the restroom for hours. No bath or even a sponge bath for almost two weeks. Cold meals and the smell of strong urine in the front part of the building is disgusting. Do yourself a favor and don’t allow a loved one to go here. It’s truly a shame. There was one employee Yvonne who seemed to care. She’s the only one that ever tried to help but it seemed as if this night staff just does their own thing. Horrible and very tiring experience.

This facility was absolutely DISGUSTING. The long term room was in a different wing than what we initially saw for her rehab, the long term room was dirty, dingy and the level of care I wouldn't subject a dog to. I was so happy to get my mother out of there, and that she was not there in that section of the facility long. You call there you cannot get through, they don't communicate well with families and emergency contacts, and the smell was horrible. Please do NOT take your loved one here for care they should be shut down! HORRIBLE! The maintenance staff was sketchy also to say the least, like they just go off parole. Please AVOID THIS FACILITY AT ALL COST TRUST THIS REVEIW STAY AWAY!!!!!

This facility is not equipped to handle patients with dementia. They don't offer extra care with this type of patient. This facility is definitely not equipped to care for patients who require extra assistance. My father was there and he couldn't walk anymore AND somehow his hip was dislocated. Still trying to find out how that happened. Either he fell or a staff member was a bit heavy handed moving him. At best this facility is for people who can care for themselves and do not have any medical mental issues. The rooms could be brighter. They have a new wing but its for short term recovery. If the rest of the facility could be updated to match would be great. I recommend to continue to visit their own doctor. Transportation can be provided. It was very difficult to get in touch with the doctor for the facility. Fortunately the nurse assisted with trying to reach the doctor to let him know the family would like to have a conference with him. He never called us back. He only reached out to the nurse that paged him to relay a message. In the room the lightbulb went out and it took a couple of weeks to get the light replaced. The only reason I gave it the rating I did is because there were some great people on staff who went the extra mile to assist and advise on how to get results when needed. This includes the nurses, CNAs, receptionist and maintenance. If you go for a tour make sure you get clarification on which wing your family member will reside in.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad was at Park Villa for two and a half weeks. The experience wasn't very good. It was mostly the CNAs who took care of the patients, but they were not trained in dementia care. My dad has dementia. Most of them didn't know how to handle him. He didn't like most of the people taking care of him. They didn't have that many activities and they would leave them in a room blasting a movie. When you have dementia, you can be sensitive to sounds, so my father would be screaming for help to get out of there. They left him at the front desk because they didn't have anything else for him to do.
