Each and every St. Patrick's staff member treated my Mother as if she were their own Mother. The Carmelite Sisters and the staff took care of my Mom's bodily needs as well as her spiritual needs with loving care. They were also a tremendous support to my family and I. St. Patrick's is a very special place. I can never thank them enough.

St Patrick's Residence was good. It was very nice. The layout was nice, and the facility was updated. The staff was caring. I had a Catholic nun take me around, and I liked her a lot. I like all the staff members. They're very, very invested and very responsive, too. If I write right now, they'll write back. They're ideal to me, but they have no space.

St Patrick's Residence seemed to be a place where my sister will get the care that she needs. They had private and semi-private rooms. Because it's a nursing home, the rooms were smaller, but they have everything that she will need. The grounds were nicely kept. The caretakers were very attentive, and the administration seemed to know what they were doing. They had bingo, music, and groups come in to entertain. They had large open areas where they could go outside on the first floor and second floor, and activity rooms. Each floor had its own eating area, and the food would be brought up to them.

The first time I entered St. Patrick's when I was looking for a home for my mother, I could feel the love within. During the ten years she lived there, every staff member I met was an example of that love and caring. St. Patrick's is the best care facility in the Naperville area.
Happy to be here

This place is wonderful because of the people who work there. Everyone from the administrators, to the nurses, maintenance staff, food service, aides, volunteers, therapy staff, and front desk people are consistently kind, caring, and patient with residents and visitors. I have spent many, many hours there with my mother and have been impressed with the patience and thoughtfulness of those caring for her. Even under difficult circumstances. There is a good ratio of staff to residents. They were proactive in addressing her medical and emotional needs. There is great respect for the dignity of the residents. My mother moved to St. Pats from another facility which was also good, but she improved and thrived at St. Pat's. The food was always good to very good. Parts of the building are older but always clean and well maintained. Activities were frequent. I'd recommend St. Patrick's to anyone

My husband went there for rehab after a stay at Edward Hospital. After a week he was complaining that his bottom was sore. I attributed it to that while not in rehab he was sitting in a chair that was not very comfortable. After several more days of him complaining, I checked him and found that he had several wounds on his bottom. They were supposed to be putting hemorrhoid cream on him twice daily and should easily have seen the sores. Upon leaving I was given a bag of his meds. I wanted to review all his medications with the nurse and upon opening the bag found someone else's medication in the bag. He also had pills in there that were discontinued several days before. He got a urinary tract infection while there and was taking medication for that. We left on a Tuesday yet the medication for Monday was still in the bag. The facility is very clean--no smell like in some other places that I visited. The rooms definitely need to be updated. The aides were helpful getting him to and from the toilet. The nursing staff is not what I would expect from such a facility and would not recommend St. Patrick's to others.

I visited St. Patrick's. It seemed like a step above where my mom is now. There were two people to a room and more patients per staff member. The food was probably about the same quality as what she has now. At this facility, they did have activities. For a facility that takes Medicaid patients, I would prefer my mom to go there, but the drive was too far from where we live. St. Patrick's is an older facility, so it could use some modernization. It is more institutional and not homey at all.

St. Patrick's Residence was more of an institutional-type building. It's an old complex that was run by the Carmelite nuns. It didn't have carpeting, and it was a little colder. It's more like a high school or college dormitory. There were a lot of people there, but everybody was just sitting around. There were some people playing cards and somebody was doing a puzzle, but it wasn't a group activity. They didn't know as much about dementia. They should make it feel more like a home instead of an old hospital.

My great-aunt was at this facility for about 18 months. Her daughter raved about how wonderful the people were to her and her mom. I visited my aunt there a few times, and I was impressed with how clean it was. The staff seemed engaged and very caring. It has a nice chapel which my aunt really enjoyed going to for daily mass (for as long as she could). As she got worse, she moved to a different floor, and the care was consistently wonderful. I thought the rooms were very hospital like, and not large, but it was impressive for the quality of the care, and the cleanliness. In addition, my friend independently placed his mother there in 2009. Both my aunt's daughter and this friend said separately to me that they thought this was an excellent facility, and would like to be placed there when they are ready for full time care.

My father was a resident of this nursing home for a little over 2 weeks. He constantly complained that the place was terrible. I found the attendants and nursing staff to be totally apathetic to the needs of the patients. My father was recovering well the first week. The second week he was very lethargic. He died a few days later. The staff did not even notice he was dying until it was too late.

I spoke to numerous people whom all recommended St. Patrick's residence. The staff were cheerful and polite. Happy staff = Happy residents. Residents were clean, well groomed and dressed nicely. All residents seemed happy. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I'm a clean freak and found this place to be very clean. The building is old but in excellent condition. In my opinion, if the staff fail to care for the facility they also fail to care for the residents. Therefore, an old facility in excellent condition is better than a new facility. Everyone eats the same meals as the residents- including guests. We thought we wanted a private room. However, each resident has window access/view in the Semi-private rooms. Plus, there is another resident to watch.

We have talked to St. Patrick. We've taken a tour, we've done the preliminary evaluation of the facility, so we're kind of on the road with that one. We just have to wait for a few months before we make any major decision. It's probably going to be fantastic. Overall, we were very pleased with the place. The staff was very accommodating, very nice, they answered all our questions, and they provided information. I can't say enough nice things about them. Right now, everything is fine, we're good.

St. Patrcik's was a 5 star facility for my Mom. They gave my Mom excellent care. I would recommend this facility for any family looking for a loving compassionate skilled facility. My Mother passed at St. Patrick's and they provided us a church for her service and viewing. It is a faith based facily run by Nuns in the Carmilite Order. They were wonderful.
