I have not heard back from Alden Estates of Naperville. I didn't like it. The look of it was fine, but there were three people in a room, and all the people were squished in. The room wasn't very big. The dining area looked fine. I called them several times, but I don't think they're good staffing. They're not responsive. During the tour, they walked me around and showed me the rooms, the people, and the area. They told me about their activities. When I physically went there, they were friendly. They were also friendly on the phone when they answered you.

My husband was a resident for 13 days during Covid isolation in September so we don't really know what went on or the type of care he received. What we do know is my husband lost 20 pounds in those 13 days and we were never told he wasn't eating. We rarely received information regarding medication given and the promise of seeing a doctor did not happened. In my opinion, this was unacceptable.

I was a resident at this facility for 3 months for rehabilitation on my arm and awaiting eye surgery. Instead they kept me in bed the whole time overmedicated me to the extent of knowing what was real or not. Never received the physical therapy for my arm or the eye surgery. Instead became unsteady on my legs due to being bedridden the entire time. You might get a shower if you persist. Became incognant, my arm and sight just got worse as well. They took away my cell phone when they found out I tried to reach out to loved ones for help. My emergency contact stated she tried to reach out to me but for some reason wouldn’t let her. I became late on rent and bills due to the fact they had my phone. They flatly refused to give it to me. As a matter of fact they probably still have it. Sent my emergency contact an outrageous past due bill and threatening collection my mail and phone if she didn’t pay. There was no past due bill at all!!!! Do yourself a favor and research. They do not take care of getting you clean efficiently, hours to change you, and rude to boot. A complete nightmare!!!

Hear residents scream from sitting in urine and feces all day from my room 2 aides on the floor most days so we wait hours before someone cleansus Administration ignores us have to pull my call light out of the wall to be noticed....... hours later....... waited 7 hours to be cleaned not a good place to go

My husband was in this facility for only 12 days, during which, and because of understaffing, his in dwelling catheter and foley bag were neglected. This lead to an infection which he was hospitalize for and 15 days later died of.

After only 12 days, my husband was rushed to the hospitial with an infection that came about because of improper care of his indwelling catheter. This infection caused his death 15 days later.

Three people independent of one another recommend Alden to us and for that reason we chose it. We found the place to be very clean, the food decent (the soups are especially good and the RN's to very good. The nurses were smart, kind, patient and loving. My mother received excellent care. We only wished they had a few more CNA's ( but we've found that every single place my mom had been could have used a few more CNA's.) The CNA's they do have are angels.

my Dad was sent here in July of 2018 for 10 days after a 24 day hospital stay. At 90, he was very weak and needed a lot of care. I am so disappointed to tell you he did not receive it at Alden. If I could rank this at 0 stars I would! They never did daily morning washing up. In the 10 days he resided here, he only received 2 showers. When he was sent by ambulance back to the hospital with a 104 degree fever, he was diagnosed with a UTI, sepsis, and E-coli! While residing here he fell in the bathroom in the middle of the night. He pulled the string, and waited 20-30 minutes stuck (the wheelchair wedged him in) on the cold hard tile floor!! We were not even informed by the staff! My Dad told me the next day on my visit. In addition to all this, I visited daily as there were new issues everyday! One day the railing on his bed broke. He informed the staff. An aide jury rigged it back together using the call/TV remote cord!! My Dad needed to support his weight by using the railing. Twenty four hours passed without it being fixed and he was told “it was reported”. I marched into the Administrater and complained and he immediately repaired it! Please don’t send anyone here that you love! The nursing, and aides were barely passable with a few exceptions. I repeatedly had conversations with the nurses regarding Dad’s long list of meds. Physical therapy was good after an additional meeting. Facility is old, with run down equipment. Food was pretty good.

NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS PLACE!! Of course everyone is nice when family is there but behind your back your loved one will be neglected. Hygiene doesn't exist. If you have other chronic illnesses, it WILL NOT be managed. The health of my loved one declined instead of improving. The place wreaks of urine and unclean residents all the time. You have to request for soiled linens to be changed. They claim to have new policies and staff in place....Do not believe this!! Nurses try to accommodate but they are stretched thin and most of the CNA'S are lazy. Carpeting smells, walls are dirty. It is shameful that this place is allowed to operate under these conditions. You have been warned....STAY AWAY

I am truly disappointed with this facility. On the surface, it looks wonderful. My grandfather has been there for short-term rehab for nearly two weeks. He has only received a shower and shave twice in that time, and both of those times were because we insisted after days upon days of asking. The CNA's are nearly nonexistent. The nurses, what few of them there are, seem flustered and/or angered by the simplest of questions. The administrative staff are nowhere to be found. The individual rooms are filthy and poorly attended to. I've seen patient call lights not responded to - sometimes for hours on end. The "intensive" PT/OT we were promised has turned out to be an average of 1/2 hour per day. Other activities are nonexistent. I will say that the foodservice staff are wonderful and responsive to requests. I simply cannot recommend this facility to anyone, and am truly frightened if this is representative of healthcare for the elderly in our community.

My father has been here for a week. The place itself is very nice. My complaints, after just one week; they do not have enough help. The patient is the bed next to my father smells heavily of urine. My fathers things have been taken, even tho they are labeled. The patient next to my father wanders at night and has been found going thru my fathers dresser and even drinking out of his cup. The nurses complain that there is not enough help. My father gets his food tray and his unable to reach it or move the tray to his benefit, so the food sits there until the next tray is delivered. My father has to live in a nursing home, he should be cared for when we are not there. I know that how you pay determines the room that you get, but it should not determine the care that you get. So far the care at this nursing home is below my expectations.

I couldn't have asked for better people to take care of my Dad. Everyone from administration to nursing was so helpful. We were so elated by the level of care and "going beyond" the norm to treat him with dignity and respect. Thank you Alden Estates of Naperville for making his time there memorable and happy!

The staff at this facility is kind and attentive, they just need more help overall. The standard "pat" answer about your insurance dictates the length of stay from the heads of Theraphy, Nursing and Social Director will first brings tears to your eyes and then you just laugh at how ridiculous their answers are. In our case my 89 year old father was very slow but still able move before his short illness struck. Hospital stay for a UTI and dehydration left him very weak, their answer to me "he may never get back to where he was" didn't not sit well! He had severe ankle swelling that was not addressed and developed cellulitis that I discovered. Patient ratio to staff really should be addressed. Bottom line is I felt the $ was more important than my father. Not a good experience
Disappointed with today's health care

my mother had to wait til someone visited her after 12pm to get changed soaked with urine, she almost died 2x because they ignored our request for her to be looked at by the hospital, to get any updates on my mother by phone I had to wait anywhere up to an hr for the nurse to answer the phone, when they did have to send her to the hospital they did not notify ANY family members that they were doing so, and when she arrived at the hospital from Alden she was severely dehydrated...kidney failure...and had lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks, and bp was failing with someone who has high bp. If you have a choice DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS FACILITY!!!!!

The staff is wonderful! I have had my husband here for several weeks and have not encountered any of what the other reviewers have encountered. I feel that he is safe and comfortable and very well taken care of and I rest easy at night knowing this. I would definitely recommend Alden Estates of Naperville without hesitation!

My mom was admitted here a month ago after her knee surgery. She was in there for 2 weeks and they were truly the worst 2 weeks of her life. First she was given antibiotics without consulting a doctor because they THOUGHT she had an infection. Those meds gave her an allergic reaction and instead of stopping them right there the nurse MANNY kept giving them to her for another couple of days. She couldn't walk so she would usually need someones help to go to the bathroom, but they would not show up for at least an hour and would be really rude. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I would not recommend this to ANYONE!

At Alden Estates of Naperville, they have a caring healthcare people -- e.g., nurses and nursing assistants. The rooms looked good. During good weather, the residents would come out and sit in their chairs outside. However, the facility had a bad smell.

Alden Estates was like a hospital, but I think the people were very friendly. They told me some things about the place and took me around. It was OK.

I chose Alden Estates because of the location. The staff were very accommodating. I had no complaints about the facility.
