Heritage Woods of Moline was very nice. It's a very clean and very pleasant place. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour went great and they gave us some very good information. The apartments and dining room were also nice clean, and well put together. They're well-maintained. Then they had bingo and different classes that helped entertain them.

We just got my mom in the Heritage Woods this week. We do not have that much experience yet, but so far so good. The facility is OK. Right now, she's paying through her own funds. When they run out, it will be carried into Medicaid or they will pick up the tab to ensure she will be able to remain there until she gets better enough to go into a nursing home. They offer private apartments, studio apartments, and one-bedroom apartments. There's a kitchenette with sink, a refrigerator, microwave, closet space, individual heating and air conditioning, and carpeted rooms. They also have emergency call devices in the bathroom and bedroom area. It is pre-wired for telephone, cable, and internet. Your blinds are provided. They get the residents to go out and go shopping too. The other amenities they have are nursing assessment, assistance with daily living, medication reminders, three meals a day, snacks, prescribed therapeutic diets, weekly housekeeping, transportation, and 24 hour day staffing. There is also a beauty salon, barber shop services, secure exterior doors, an exercise room, a recreation room, a private dining area for people if they have guests over, and a patio outside. They can do their own laundry or they can have their laundry done. There also are individual mailboxes.

Heritage Woods was pretty nice. They did a nice job. I've talked to them several times, and they did a Zoom tour with us. I've been in the building before, but my mother hasn't. The staff was very accommodating. She has kept in touch. I talked with her several times on the phone, and she arranged for a Zoom. She's been very good. They have studio and one-bedroom apartments. They had a library and a gathering room. I don't remember a whole lot because we are more concerned about COVID than anything else. Here in Illinois, they weren't allowed out of their rooms, so that was a concern. There are no drawbacks. We haven't been inside the building since COVID, but I was in the building pre-COVID. My mother has never been in there, and she had to do the Zoom.

My sister-in-law was in assisted living at Heritage Woods of Moline. She was fine there, but it just wasn’t home, and I think it could have been better. She didn’t do any of the activities and just kind of stayed in her room. She was having a hard time adjusting being in a place like that. I know they had bingo because I’ve seen that on the elevator when I would go up to her room. It was certainly a kind place.

I have been here at Heritage Woods for about five months. It’s very nice and clean, and it’s like brand new. Everything is shipshape, just really in good condition. The staff is wonderful. I had a death in my life a week ago with my 8-year-old granddaughter and they were so good to me and made sure that I got everything I needed as far as food when I didn’t want to leave my room to eat. They were very caring about that. They have things to do here every day and every week. The bus goes out to the shopping for the people that want to go and they have cards, brain, and guessing games like titles of songs, and it’s just something all the time if you want to do it. Their food is from a menu I would assume from the government and they have to follow a guideline of what to cook. The meals are mediocre, but it’s something you have to adjust.
