My aunt moved to Alden Terrace of Mchenry Rehab. The place is welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious. Everyone that I've had communication and contact with has been great. They do bingo, karaoke, and entertainment. The dining room is large and warm, and the food is good. It's affordable.

On the way in someone told us to go anywhere but here. If you imagine a bad nursing home, this would be it. Even talking to them before we came in it didn’t sound good. We ended up having my father stay there, because there were not other beds around. Weeks later he ended up going to the ER because the weren’t checking his catheter. It was in wrong, what was in the bag clearly showed an infection, and he had over a liter of fluid in him. He ended up getting a UI infection, and a bacterial infection so severe they had him in for 10 days intensive care. Even without this, no one was ever around, it seemed almost cruel, staff wasn’t helpful. It was not only depressing, but so worrying I’m working on contacting whomever I can to get that place looked at. My father is now at the county nursing home, and I walked in for the first time today while I’m in town, and wow! The facility is amazing, people great, food good, and activities all the time! I don’t like how we have to have him cared for, but this place is amazing. My family said the same, but I had to see it myself. Done ever think about Aldine to take your love one.

The Nurses were great. Especially Amanda, Max, Imanualle, Jenn, and Maryann and many more that take care of us during the 3rd shift at night. The nurses care about the residents and treat them like family. The Cnas also do a great job in taking care of resident's personal needs, big shout out to Nico and Anthony always willing to help and talk with residents. The transportation Manager Martha does a great job getting residents to their Dr visits off campus. The Therapists Sam and Katelynn also strive to help their residents achieve their goals in therapy. They offer Bingo, daily news, and other fun projects.

I had to go to a rehab facility after 5 weeks in the hospital and on wound care. I chose Alden because it was close for my family. It was a horrible experience. I had to be there 2 weeks but I was begging my doctors to get me out sooner. I shared a room with a very sweet elderly woman that was a long term resident. I felt horrible for her for many reasons but the number one reason she had a horrible bed that was falling apart. My bed was probably from the 70s , you had to crank it in order to adjust. The food was not great and the staff was not great except the occupational and physical therapist they kept me sane and they were great.

Cramped situation of. Three men in a room. Rooms need to be more home like and less like a hospital. Long term residents need activities to do out of their rooms Since they spend so much time there anyway

Alden Terrace was kind of old, but it’s OK for rehab. The food was average. They have occupational therapy, but it’s not dirty; it's just an old building. Two people in each room with one bathroom in the middle; you got to share it with 4 people. The other thing I didn’t like is you can only shower twice a week; I don’t think that’s right, and the rooms were not air-conditioned.

I didn't like the facility here in Alden Terrace of McHenry. The staff was fine, but the rooms were cramped. They had three people in a room. As far as activity is concerned, from what they told me, it's standard like all the rest. To improve the place, they would have to make it less institution-like and more like a home.

My mom was in Alden Terrace for her rehab. The rooms were nice and a nice size. The staff was caring. I tasted the food, and the food was nice. My mom was also OK with the food there. They have activities like bingo, they do gardening, they have a program with animals. I would recommend it to others.
