My mom has moved into The Voyage Senior Living Marion North, and she's absolutely thrilled. The staff are awesome and very helpful. The first few days she was there, they came and checked on her every two hours. They're still reminding her every day of what time meals are because she's got dementia and she forgets. They're really great. I've been really pleased with their service. They're really responsive when I call and talk to them. My mom doesn't need memory care yet. She's in a one-bedroom apartment. It has a kitchenette, a nice bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a big window in her living room, and a big window in her bedroom. All their rooms are in a circular fashion, so there's a big courtyard in the middle, so her room looks into the courtyard. The common dining area is great. It's right next to the front entry. Not only do they have a big dining area, but they have a seating area right there with a TV, a fireplace, and the kitchen is right next to it. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Everybody seems to really like each other. The facility is not huge, there's only about 27 residents, but they all seem to enjoy getting together. They have a lot of activities for them. They play bingo and they have crafts once a week. My mom goes up and eats meals with them, but she has not yet participated in activities. She hasn't been there quite long enough. She likes the food. They have a daily special. If they are not happy with the daily special, they have other options. It's kind of served restaurant style. They fill out their menu by the day so they know what they are, and they can pick what they want to eat that day. Actually, they pick for the whole week what they want to eat. They'll take my mom to the store. They have somebody who comes in once a week and does a church service. They have an activities director. They have somebody come in periodically, like once a month or twice a month, and just put on like a mini concert where somebody comes in and sings for the residents. They just do quite a lot for the residents.

The Voyage Senior Living Marion North provides three meals a day and plenty of snacks. They got good people there. You can visit as much as you want to, so there's no limit on when and how often you can visit. The staff seemed very nice. They were caring people. It is a place that I think my sister will be very content and happy with. The apartment we saw was spacious. It had a sitting room, a bedroom, and a fully handicap-accessible bath with a walk-in shower and shower bars. It had a friendly atmosphere and I was pleased with it. They have a lot of activities. They take them out on day outings for those that want to go. They also have a gathering space, books, and a room where the staff keeps it stocked with items so residents can shop there for the things they need.

I have visited The Voyage Senior Living of Marion. It is a relatively new facility and the rooms are spacious. The one-bedroom was spacious, but it did not have a washer and dryer in the unit. The one thing that made my sister choose the other place was, should she need more care, it's available. The Voyage does not have that available, so you would have to move to another facility, and I didn't want to do that later down the line. They were very nice and I liked them a lot, but my sister has a progressive disease, so she would likely need more care later. The staff that I met there was very nice, very professional, kind, and attentive. They did not have two doors to the apartment, they only had one door. I saw a beauty shop there, they have a support dog, and you can go visit with the dog. It just didn't meet our personal needs.

My mom used to live in River To River. We were unhappy with it. It was very impersonal. The food was not good. We were also not impressed with the staff; they kept changing a lot. The room and the facility were good, and they did have Bingo and exercise classes, but that's about it for activities.
