Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections, Harrisburg, Illinois

I went to look at Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections. The people were friendly. The lady that showed me around was very friendly and sweet. The room she showed me was gorgeous, and I loved it, but I didn't have the feeling there that I did in the other facility.

My dad has been at Villas of Holly Brook. It is a beautiful place, it's quiet, they have good food, everyone is cheerful. They care about their residents and take very good care of them. His apartment is spacious and clean. Each resident wears a buzzer and they have a system where they know where each resident is at all times; it's connected to that buzzer. If they are anywhere in the building and they press their buzzer, they can track them. That is very cool. For activities, I think they have bingo and a pool table. They also have several gathering places where the residents sit and talk, just like at home. They have church services. They also have planned activities pretty much on a weekly, and maybe even a daily, basis. They require a 24-hour notice for visitations and only two people at a time. You must wear a mask, they will screen you when you come in, like take your temperature and ask some questions about exposure. I think that's still going on. It is expensive but it is also a good place.

The lady at Harrisburg Villas of Holly Brook was very nice and helpful, took her time with us, and explained everything very well. It was all nice and clean. We got to look down the hallway and see the cafeteria. They haven't had a case of the virus there, so they're really careful about letting people in. The staff showed us the activities from January and February. They had church services, bingo and different things, and they had a nice little outdoor patio. The room was very clean, and it had the shower where you can sit down in and plenty of cabinet space in the bathroom and in the kitchen, but there's just a refrigerator, a microwave and a sink. They give three meals a day, and they got a snack bar.

Harrisburg Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care was very clean. The patients looked at the staff lovingly and content. It was very well run and organized for the needs of a person with memory issues. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable about what they do there. They have a room specifically for anxiety with lighting, fabrics, textures, and buttons. They have an outside area where they can garden, a common area with a big screen TV, calming aquarium, very nice dining area, in-house fresh fruit and vegetables, and meals were cooked there daily. It's very clean and beautiful.

The Villas of Holly Brook is a brand new facility, and it was able to accommodate everything my parents needed. It is assisted living, but my parents can still be very independent. They have been there for a couple of weeks now. They?re very attentive. Food is excellent. It is all wonderful. They?re very accommodating. I?ve worked in assisted living, and this was probably by far one of the best. They have been very attentive in the time that my parents have been there.

My mother-in-law is at Harrisburg Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care, and it's nice, fresh, and brand-new. It was nicely-decorated, and the decor was what's trendy right now. The whole layout and atmosphere and everything seemed to be perfect for what we were looking for. The staff is good, and they seem to be very friendly. We're pleased. One day we were there for supper, and they were having tuna salad sandwiches. One day, they had crab cakes.
