The tour I had at DeKalb County was good. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. I didn't even have it scheduled. I just walked in and they were really helpful. The lady that did the tour was great. Their rooms were all semi-private, which was not as desirable as a private room.

watching the majority of agency CNA's and Nurses employed at DCRNC, they dont read the patient bedside care cards nor the warning's posted on patient wall next to bed by administration. Some Nurses dont read the mar on each patient. Seen neglect, many falls, equipment NOT being introspected daily like it's to be, patients aren't checked on like they should be, meals are late, bed-bound patients are fed last, patients being ignored, rooms on certain halls DONT get properly cleaned and the house keeping supervisor doesn't care. All this witnessed within fifteen months of a family members stay. Out of the three nursing homes in Dekalb, unfortunately DCRNC is the best of the three. The place needs a new administrator.

My grandmother very much seemed to enjoy her stay here. While she is not the type to like staying away from home for long periods of time the staff at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing were very much aware of this and helped all they could to make her feel at home. They checked on here atleast every 45 minutes to see if there was anything they could help her with, (excluding her medication visits and dinner visits). Though she was going through a tough time her stay at the nursing facility was a great experience and it helped her to heal and return home faster. During my grandfathers stay things were about the same as for my grandmother. He was a very demanding person and just like her, did not enjoy being out of his comfort zone. One thing I remember him enjoying over all services offered was the food. We were all shocked that he enjoyed this as he was a picky eater, but he really took to it well. The nurses were just as nice and friendly as before and again went of out their way to provide all that he needed. They were great at explaining to our family everything they were doing and any medication they were administering before doing so. Overall we've had great experiences with DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing.

As a resident of DeKalb County, I have several friends and family members that have stayed in the DeKalb County Nursing Home. The facility was recently rebuilt in a different, more central location and is bigger and more technologically advanced than ever. The amenities at the DeKalb County Nursing Home are standard and available in a private or shared room, which is more than other area nursing homes can offer. The staff is usually very friendly and accommodating to guests and visitors, which is why I continue to make bi-weekly visits: some other nursing homes make it uncomfortable for visitors unlike this one. As for the facilities, guests are able to join several committees that host events at the nursing home, which is more common in the upscale nursing homes that I have visited as opposed to some of the ones that are run by the county government. All in all, I highly recommend the DeKalb County Nursing Home for guests and for visitors in the area.
