We have selected Evergreen Place Supportive Living. We have eaten there, and it’s good. For my parents, it’s a 1-bedroom that 2 people can live. They have studio rooms, but that’s just for 1 person. Their room is adequate. They had lived in a very good size home for over 50 years, so it’s a stepdown for them, but it seems to be working out. My parents have lived there for at least 3 weeks, and we haven’t had any problems. They have 3 levels of things that they offer, and my parents are in the middle offering. They still can do their own laundry, but they do offer a complete laundry service if you want. So far, they have elected not to do that. Otherwise, it’s good.

I checked out Evergreen Place Supportive Living. They go by your income. They have very nice apartments. They are roomy enough for one person that needs to be there. They're not large, but large enough for one person. The two-bedrooms are a little bit larger, of course, and they're all very nice apartments. The staff member was exceptional. She answered my questions, and she knew what she was doing. They're very informative, and they tell you what you need to do, so they're very good. There's a nursing staff there, and they are prepared to take anyone to the hospital. It is a well-established place. They have almost the same activities as anybody else has. There are a couple of things you can do in the workout room.

I do NOT suggest taking your loved one here if they have any form of Dementia. My loved one has dementia, and was placed on the waiting list for The Legacy side of the campus as soon as they arrived a year ago. They were allowed to stay in the supported living side of the campus while they waited, where the residents are free to come and go as they please, to our family’s knowledge anyways. My loved one went out shopping with friends, like they always have, and got lost and got brought back by the police. They kicked my loved one out saying they can’t assume responsibility for their resident and she is no longer allowed to live there. My family trusted Evergreen to take care of my loved one, and they have failed us. They knew my loved one has Dementia and did not take care of them with much knowledge of the disease. Evergreen advertises compassionate care and has NOT done so. They kicked an elderly person out of their facility for one offense. There was no “x” amount of days for them to find another place to live, they were kicked out the same day they were brought back by the police. They certainly do not care about the well being of my family member as she has no place to go.

Evergreen Place Supportive Living was good and brand new. The apartment was a studio with a small kitchen. The staff was good and very knowledgeable. They had an exercise room, an activity room where you can play games on the TV and have get-togethers. They had a bus that took the residents to the mall. We had lunch, and the food was good and in huge portions.

I have a friend at Evergreen. We visited her, and from what I have seen it is a beautiful place. It has wonderful food. The room that I have been in is very nice, very comfortable, and seems to fit my friend's needs. Access is easy. Their activity is the one area that I am concerned about. Based on what I saw on their day board, they have sun in the morning and gathering in the afternoon. I know my friend will have a little trouble because she was quite an active social worker before she went to assisted living. The groups are not there. There's no book club or no social life kind of thing. I didn't think they have enough activities. She tried to get a bridge club started but was not successful. They need to improve the activities there. I like the atmosphere and the décor.

We toured Evergreen Place, and everybody seemed very friendly and nice. They have a nursing staff, and they have memory care available. The rooms were very nice. They have kind of an open dining room; the residents sit down with a menu, and they choose what they want to eat. It was just too intimidating because it was too large, and it has three floors. The security seemed good.

My Mother lived at Evergreen. The dining room and staff was wonderful. The selection of food and the meals were great. Unfortunately my mother had some health problems that required further attention and she had to move out twice. But I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for themselves or someone else. The building itself is beautiful and a lot of activities. Can't say enough good things. They tried very hard to accomadate my mother. I really appreciate that.
