This facility is unimpressive. My sister was sent there for rehabilitation services and only received minimal physical therapy and they did not explain how payment was to be completed. They gave information that was not clear and we learned at the end of her stay that she was charged due to her mode of income and was being viewed as a candidate for the nursing home rather than the focus being on rehabilitation. The family had to request meetings to determine what was happening with her rather than the staff inform her or the family of the changes in her care. When asked questions about her care the staff was evasive and ambivalent. There is a doctor who consults with the facility, but he only saw my sister twice and did not give much direction to her case. The facility is old and smelled of urine and feces on many occasions. Often discarded medical supply wrappings were in my sister's room. Her clothes were misplaced on a few times. Inevitably after several months my sister was removed with no clear understanding whether she could benefit from further physical therapy or what benefits she received from their services.

I would never recommend this facility. I am a 50-year old with sound mind who received the poorest of care while staying at Renaissance. I was admitted because of post-knee replacement surgery care and rehabilitation. Unfortunately I witnessed and reported that my elderly roommate was mistreated by a nurse's assistant. Afterwards, my food was withheld and the assistants would not change my bedding. After reporting this several times, the administrator told me that I was a difficult patient who did not need care. The required physical therapy was not given daily. It got so bad that I left the facility after making a report to my insurance carrier and received top-notch physical therapy at home.

This facility located is located on the south side of chicago. The facility in under new management, and staff appear to be very caring to the residents. The grounds are attractive, and the colors in the building are warm and inviting. The staff greeted me in a warm professional manner upon entering the building. I would rank this facility 4 out of 5 stars.
